Does anyone have setting recommendations to resolve (for lack of a better word) body shimmering. I've noticed on my Sharp 4K Roku smart tv sometimes when a person is moving it will have a shimmering pixelation around them.
I always figured it was a streaming issue, but I just got a Xbox One S to play 4K movies, and noticed this again last night watching Thor Ragnorok in 4K. Not sure if it my tv setting or the Xbox (seems to be a little more prevalent on blu-rays played on the Xbox compared to when I watched on my PS4) Any suggestions are appreciated. |

Take a hot shower, but remember to put something over the drain so all that glitter doesn't wash into the septic system.

...And totally regretting using the words "Body Shimmer" to describe my problem. I should have known the can of worms I was opening.

If so, is there still artifacting body shimmer? Check the Xbox settings, disable any artificial sharpness and noise reduction options (as well as Trumotion/MotionFlow/Whatever-it's-called). Also remove those options on your 4k TV. It won't look as "fluid", but compare the amount of shimmer you get in scenes that are most problematic. Start "raw", then progress upwards from there. The MotionFlow is most likely the primary issue, though. When there are many things moving on the screen, it can get confused and improperly predict/translate the information to the screen. If you have several menu options/tweaks in place, it can compound the issue. Thus, Body Shimmer. ![]() Last edited by KcMsterpce; 03-08-2018 at 02:58 AM. |

Thanks, I cannot find any noise reduction settings to turn off on my XBox, I've set ,y motionflow to medium. It's helped decrease the artifacting but turning it off completely causes to much stutter - have to choose the lessor of the two evils
