Looks like Love Simon is doing a preview Saturday night, if anyone wanted to see it early.

I'll be getting tickets, which you can only get the day of my theatre said. But it's in a recliner theatre so I don't care.

If Wrinkle opens in the $30 million range and Black Panther is still in the $40 million range, I think BP might top next week too if Tomb Raider doesn't open past $20 million.

BoxOfficeMojo is predicting Wrinkle will win the weekend with 42 million and BP will get 38 million. Hoping that's not the case and BP repeats.

Oprah will buy out theaters for underprivileged girls if she has to, she doesn't do second place.

Oprah's box office power is very hard to determine, cause she hasn't headlined many movies, and the ones she has (like Beloved) have not done so well.

Well to be fair, plenty of celebs did that for Black Panther as well.

As much I think you're probably correct, I still voted for the opposite.

Deadline earlier:

Here’s a ray of sun for A Wrinkle of Time: The Ava DuVernay-directed film is looking to win Friday with $12M-$14M over Black Panther which will turn in $8M-$9.5M.That’s for sure. We just received a second update and it looks like A Wrinkle in Time should take the weekend with $44M-$45M over Black Panther‘s $41M-$42M. Another set of estimates from a few minutes ago believed the No. 1 one win was too close to call with both looking at $37M to low $40Ms.

I think Black Panther will outperform predictions again and win the weekend, barely.

I can't believe people are turning in to see A Wrinkle In Time when the reviews have been awful. It has a 29% and a 2.2/5.0 rating on Rotten Tomatoes from fans right now. Word of mouth will have to spread and I'm sure that'll hurt Saturday and Sunday grosses.

Hold on, you're telling me cinemascores and online ratings aren't comprehensive and don't mean anything...

Horror films always do worse on cinemascore (a C is like an average B for other genres), yet die hard horror fans are certainly the fan base which rates films online, while the target family demo for Wrinkle may be less likely to.

Plus, unlike cinemascore where everyone saw the film and get just one ballot, online ratings (particularly when a film has just opened and fewer people have seen it) can easily be manipulated by people who haven't seen a movie or create multiple votes to skew results.

No, he didn’t . Should have picked Black Panther to win. Wrinkle in Time is an obvious flop. Funny to see Deadline with their usual hype...pumping WIT as the winner for the weekend all day yesterday. Only to start Saturday “eating their words” .
