Default ONKYO 606 and polk RM6750

Does anyone have a good set up for that setup. i have a living room about 15 feet by 20 feet and with the onkyo and polk setup i dont seem to get a loud enough sound until i raise the volume to nearly 50. Doe anyone else have any experience with that. I know its not about the loudness, but just wanted to make sure that i am not missing something. i ran thought the Audessey setup and also played with the individual setup of the speakers, but still seem to think that i am falling a little short.

any help would be very appreciated.

Thanks

50 is only halfway up the dial... you got a lot of room to play with before you reach max volume.

If it really bothers you just go into your speaker setup menu and bump up all of the volume levels for each speaker. Just increase them all the same amount so the levels stay equal to one another. Then it will be louder at lower levels on the dial.

ttelivala:

Instead of unnecessarily spending money, you could just buy a cheap Sound Meter from Radioshack. Use the test tones from a DVD like Avia and set each speaker to play at 85dB. After you do that, send pink noise to all the speakers until it reaches 85dB. You might find that too loud so 75dB of overall volume is OK.

And set it to that volume before watching any movie.

I have the same set up and usually 35-40 does it for me. My apt living room isn't huge though. Maybe you could play with the settings?

i have mine at 43-55 usually.

if everyone is awake its at 50+ always which is pretty farkin loud LOL.

did u adjust your crossovers? that made a huge difference for me in my speakers. also increase the DB... i went from 62 to 50 for great loudness.

45-50 is the norm for me. it is loud. adjusting the speaker levels in the config screen will help you. when setting though make sure there is a difference of at least 6 between the center and the fronts

I:E if your center is set to 6 then your fronts should be set to 0, otherwise the fronts will drown out the dialogue coming from the center. Also check your crossover settings, make sure they match what your speakers can handle.

Also make sure that night time mode is turned off

Check your speaker levels, if you Audissey setup thru the amp its possible it turned the db levels down, i found i had to go thru and tweak the levels and distance of the speakers after the setup
