That's Wolfgang Meyer's home theater with a Barco DP 2000 (4 kW Xenon lamp ) throwing an image on a 7 meter (> 22 feet ) scope screen. I believe he's getting >60 fL with that system.

The base price on that PJ is about 100k, and an auto masking scope screen of that size would also probably run 75k+. That's not including the specific long throw lens, the build/venting to accommodate that projector, and projector programming/automation. THAT'S what I call a theater! If/when I build a dedicated theater, video has got to match audio and I will look long and hard at this projector.

not to be talking bad....Again...pitty about the dvd players,it will look nothing like the true 1080P that is being projected at the screen in ur shot...it will look like an oily glass window all fuzzy or a VCR video to most people who are already use to Blu-ray,the short Priced Denon 3808ci is only at 2 grand while the speakers are worth 10-30 grand a pair???...

thats like pumping low octane 86 gas in a million dollar super car...let alone the low bit rate of sound at 400 kbps of dvd's...so lets add water in the Gas!..
i've seen much more better set-up's on here with People who install there own Gear & more knowledgeable then whats going on here...
yeah nice seating,flooring..but the gear isnt going to be put in its full Uses how it should be,Sad...

the people who've spent 20 grand+ are Laughing at this set-up and keeping to themselfs,They know already it isnt comparable to theirs and know $350'000.00K got flushed down...I've seen more better set-ups for cheaper,i can only wish one of their grand kids will plug-in a PS3 later on!.

Kind sir, the Denon will be used for other sources - his main JBL Prepro will take care of the HT duties. DVD doesn't look as good as BD we know that, but I don't know what else he has in that rack, I don't know if he has any TAW gear, or some other exotic video processor. Since he has a JBL Synthesis system - its safe to assume that he went hog wild in the rest of the system. He may be waiting for the BD player to get in (it may be that exotic) who knows ? I'm not laughing - not laughing at all - My system - with all of its BD glory would still have to take a knee to this system alone - with this type of system, you won't have to see the movie - the sound will blow you away by itself (I'll take a well equiped dts/dd based system over a BD based system with common speakers). Do not laugh because this system hasn't said anything about BD yet - the only system that I've seen in this forum that can even talk in the same room as this one is Brain Sturgeon's...he has room to talk, "Z" may be able to express a few words also and Gremal - not very many in that class, every one else will have to take a back seat - unless you put your system up in the gallery You my friend may or may not have heard or seen a truly high-end HT, but when you do - you won't forget it. I've seen HT's look like film...before BD! I've witnessed some grand stuff...before BD! BD improves a system but unless you've got the engine and wheels to go with that new spark plug set - it goes nowwhere. You can put quality sparks in and it will go very well, put better sparks in - the better, but put the best sparks in a Yugo...its still a Yugo. I think thats a good analogy - I gurantee you he will get a BD player - if he doesn't have one already

Oh and let me add Woody to that elite list of super high quality systems! They go beyond 10 in my book! There are a few others some that haven't posted pics yet, but for the most part - most of us are in the dust - choking off of this systems dust.

If I could catch some dust from this system, or Brains, or Gremal's or Woody's I would (not sure who Z is, so no offense intended by exclusion). It might bring mine up a few notches. But it gives me something to dream about even if I never get there.

Brain - is that a BD or a DVD in that pic?

A little off topic

Speaking of dust - I've always marveled at the way the dust on Brains B&W's look so beautiful!!!! IT MAKES DUST LOOK GOOD!!!!!

Here's a better reverse analogy - putting a BD player into a system with a HDMI receiver - with cheap speakers and a 27 inch 480i 4:3 display is like putting $6,000 rims on a car that's only worth $500.00!!! Which is easier - replacing the gas or getting a new car. Get the car first - and then buy the accessories. This man is doing it right! Both are important but your speakers are the only thing you really hear other than the room itself. Source components are very important but if the equipment can't duplicate the source - I don't care how good your source is - by the time it gets to the sorry gear, it will be sorry sound and picture out.

By the way - what other systems have you seen that are better than this one (other than the one's I mentioned - I've heard most of the stuff here - the JBL system was originally used by IMAX) I've heard this type of system and its sisters. Get the list together and lets take a peak. I'm very curious now

1. I pooped myself when I saw his HT build.

2. I pooped myself again when I saw Brain Surgeon's screen. Though I'm confused, you say 22' screen, which I believe from the photo, but your gallery shows a 10' screen?

3. I'm now on my last boxers and must do laundry. Thank you sir, may I have another?

4. Please thank him for spending some $$ during these hard times. It's in these times that we need the wealthy to spend and "stimulate" the economy. At the very least, they'll keep some of us working!

5. Wow! Those are some floors dude! And damn - what a garage!

6. "...two tvs because he likes to watch two games at once..." - I need to shake this man's hand. PIP is officially jealous

When the hell did this thread become about poverty? It's their money. Let them do what they want with it. Jesus Christ. The guy probably makes huge donations just for the tax write offs.

3 DVD players , surprised the pets (cats or dogs) if he has any don't also get their own DVD player! One is only needed unless they are paranoid someone is going to touch and mess with the DVD player so each person had to get their own!
