For a second I thought it was the original and I got a little excited.

I saw the movie and I don’t think that’s the only reason. It’s just not a particularly unique or interesting movie. I really like Eli Roth (especially lately with kinda-brilliant stuff like Knock Knock) but this was a milquetoast letdown.

I don’t think it was as bad as the critics were putting it but it’s not one I have much of a desire to watch again. Also rather surprised this is getting the 4K treatment. The film’s cinematography doesn’t call for visual eye candy at all really.

I wish the five original films 1974-1994 would get 4k.

Wow, this is a (sort of) pleasant surprise.
That, of course, would be Creed. In fact, I assume we can probably thank Fox's heavy investment into UHD BD for getting us this film on the format. I doubt most of the other studios would have even put it up for pre-order. EDIT: I guess I forgot the remake of The Magnificent Seven, too, which was distributed worldwide by Sony. Willis isn't very good in this, but the supporting cast is much better, and plus, we'll get "Back in Black" in 7.1 (the film had a Dolby Surround 7.1 logo) or possibly Atmos/DTS:X over the end credits. On top of that, if it sells well, we might get a UHD BD of the 1974 film if Paramount get jealous, and Elisabeth Shue in 4K ain't a bad thing, either. EDIT: I just realized that if this does come to pass, it seems that it would be be the first Fox (let alone MGM) UHD BD that is not a title handled by them in multiple international territories, so that would be another reason to support it.
