![]() https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/revenge_2017 Really excited for this. I love a good, bloody revenge movie. Especially with a bad-ass female lead. Looks very stylish. It's currently 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. |

You've seen one movie of this ilk, you basically seen them all.
Wasn't impressed by what I've seen here. I'd be cool if something different was done here. |

Got my ticket to watch it this Friday. Based on critics’ reviews it seems to be one if not the best take on this particular sub-genre of revenge films; apparently it’s very violent while still being sensitive and respectful of the issue it explores (rape and revenge by the victim).
Edit- it’s getting distributed by Neon (owned by same company that owns Alamo Drafthouse), so if you have an Alamo Drafthouse near you it might be playing there. Last edited by samlop10; 05-10-2018 at 06:46 AM. |

As for that commercial, insulting, belittling and stereotyping the whole over the dumb comments of a few, (how do they know if the commenter's male?) especially when many of those are potential customers, is not a very good marketing tactic. They clearly didn't learn anything from the Ghostbusters situation. Then again, Neon's owned by Drafthouse cinemas, who put a rude moviegoer's obnoxious voicemail message and made it into a PSA. |

It's like saying that all of those negative comments regarding Get Out or Black Panther are only from angry white people when there are some black people who don't regard those films very highly. It's not about hating your own gender. Keep in mind that there are some women out there who detest these kinds of movies as well. Last edited by CelluloidPal; 05-10-2018 at 03:00 PM. |

That trailer is really just an insignificant and unnecessary piece of marketing. Everyone already knows that the YouTube comment section is a cesspool that shouldn’t be taken seriously. We didn’t need the reminder.
Seriously though, most of the audience for this movie is going to be men anyway. Last edited by spanky87; 05-10-2018 at 04:34 PM. |

For the second paragraph, again, I haven’t seen the video and I’m not interested in watching it until I’ve seen the movie first. It seems like they’re poking at people who made comments about the movie that might be interpreted as sexist based on the comments and reactions here? Again, can’t form my personal opinion on them or the movie until I watch the video, and I don’t want to “take a sides” until I’ve seen the film and I can judge it myself and then the comments. Critics’ reviews are simply encouraging me to watch the film but I’m not saying that it is actually a good movie; I’m hoping that it will be though. I do remember seeing the moviegoer’s obnoxious voicemail message since it played before Ingrid Goes West. They never revealed the identity of the person and TBH that person should be banned from theaters. I’m one of those people that gets very annoyed when people use cellphones during a movie at the cinema. It interrupts your attention and pulls you out of the movie, and I wish more theaters would enforce that no-cellphone rule like Alamo Drafthouse. Based on the voicemail itself, the person who left it was offended because she wasn’t allowed to, but wanted to be able to freely use her cellphone during the movie when she could have simply stepped outside to do so instead of interrupting the experience for everyone. I do not agree with everything the company stands for but I agree with a lot of what they believe the movie experience should be, and a no-cellphone rule is completely, 100% reasonable.
