This isn't necessarily in my wheelhouse, and I won't see it in the theater. But the trailer looked pretty darned entertaining. I'll definitely watch it whenever it hits HBO/Netflix/Prime.

Saw this movie at 10pm last night. Never saw any of his movies, just seen the actor in Star Trek 09 and Gone Girl.

Also, I wouldn't call it racist but again, it's stereotypical. I've had my fair share of that behavior, one or two instances, actual fights broke out and it's quite embarrassing but it's not limited to black people. A fight broke out during a screening of Inception and someone actually brought infants into a showing of Piranha 3D.

Really? I mean it wasn't that bad... People fighting in a movie theater? seriously? Are any of his movies really good? He seemed like a really good actor in Gone Girl.....and I didn't even know who he was until it was pointed out later.

I grew up watching Tyler Perry movies (manly Madea) and some are fun and decent (despite them having the same cliches and melodrama), while others are not that great.

I enjoyed Madea's Big Happy Family, Madea Goes To Jail, Madea's Family Reunion and Diary of a Mad Black Woman.

Madea's Witness Protection sucked and A Madea Christmas was okay to meh. Haven't watched the Madea Halloween movies (doubt I ever will)

I've read that Temptation was godawful. Read the summary and it was weak.

In a way, yes. He has a specific audience that watches his movies, whether they're good or bad.

We have black stereotypes, like how some talk and act. Hell, one movie has a joke with grits.

Crazy how unknown this guy is in the UK considerig his huge success in his native land. I'm not even sure if any of his films have had a proper national release before, which if so (and I'm not sure of that) would probably mean that this film would be his first proper release over here (well I'm assuming it will get a national release!).

Well we go to the movies to enjoy having a break from the BS of reality but it's almost like you are saying TP wants a certain group of people to come in, talk during the entire movie and don't give an F about anyone else in the theater. I think the white older lady was the one who "Shh'ed" them....

I've never seen any of his films, and don't really have any interest in doing so.

But yeah, he was fantastic in Gone Girl. I'd definitely go see him act in more roles like that.

Perry is a pretty talented guy, I like the movies that he stays out of the dresses.
