A mystery/horror themed cartoon with a talking dog? How is this limited? You can make up any mystery or villain. Even supernatural ones, which they’ve done.

This movie though is just a strange choice regardless of its quality.

This was made for the young girl market like all those Barbie and Monster High DTV movies.

It’s strange because they’ve created a whole separate continuity for no reason.

The cartoons are thier own thing so that’s fine but whatever mainstream live action movie is supposed to happen is going to include everyone and presumably have it’s own origin.

Even the other DTV live action movies the mystery begins/curse of lake monster were reboots/prequels or whatever. Kinda thier own thing too but it made sense. This is just really off track. Unless it’s yet another DTV reboot where the sequel is about the gang meeting? It’s an odd direction either way imo.

I seriously doubt that their target audience cares or even thinks about stuff like that.

getting 'Jessica Alba in Fantastic Four' flashbacks

It's got the overall look of a Disney Channel Original Movie but worse.

Ya you’re probably right. I meant more from the filmmakers standpoint.

Curse of Lake Monster was in 2010 so it’s been awhile. Just wouldn’t have thought a second DTV reboot would be considered worthwhile to WB...if it is expected to have a sequel.

ummmmmm kay.
I like some Scooby-Doo on occasion, and Mystery Incorporated was a pretty good show, but I'll skip this one. Appears aimed at a pre-tween audience, like some of the Disney & Nickelodeon live-action series.

Makes it more accurate to the cartoon. Velma isn't supposed to be hot.

Honestly, yeah. I'd rather watch the live action version again, even the direct to DVD version as well, than to watch this.

I've never actually seen the live action version. I've seen pieces here and there while flipping around, but I don't think I could sit through the whole thing. I'm sure I'll see it sometime, though.

Heck, I do love me some SMG.

Ill stick to the cartoon, thanks. They are REALLY reaching with this. Like, beyond any reach I can think of. Good Luck.

The CGI monsters are laughably low budget looking in the live-action theatrical version but I still enjoyed it.

I have no idea why a bunch of ~20 to 40 year old males are even critiquing what is clearly a tween movie geared towards younger girls. You all are obviously not the target audience for this.

I guess people are not allowed critique Acrimony or Peter Rabbit since many here are not the "target" audience in your eyes.

Thank you for your blind generalization.
