Haven't seen what's out so far, but this sounds interesting. I'll have to complete my Constantine Blu collection (have the 2005 movie and the live-action show already)

He was probably basing his statement on the fact that DCAU staff decided to use the (admittedly amazing) live-action interpretation of Constantine in JLD. But I do believe that even though they continued to have Matt Ryan and others reprise their roles in JLD, that film was not a continuation or related to the live-action show in any way (unlike, say, the Vixen animated shorts).
This seems to be part of the arrowverse live-action stuff. I do believe that this was first started on CW's online service they have. So don't let the animated part of it fool you into thinking it's related to JLD or the DCAU. No adverts for this have hinted or shown it to be part of that universe, I just believe that this was the only way for the show-runners to be able to continue their CW Constantine after CW made the sad choice of not renewing it for infinite seasons. Edit: Early post mistakenly stated that City of Demons was not part of the arrowverse. Last edited by FPFALL; 08-14-2018 at 06:40 AM. Reason: Misinformation |

Now I'm not sure what I feel about him implying that it could ALSO be related to arrowverse at the same time. That could present some very very big continuity and legal ridiculousness since WB sold off rights to have Batman in a show to Fox with Gotham. |

Also, I think Fox has just always had the live action TV rights to Batman since Adam West's Batman. ---- As for which universe... JLD Constantine just makes more logical flow here. Since the Arrowverse Constantine will be a season regularly this year on Legends of Tomorrow, it'd be somewhat confusing to have the same version of him in two places airing at the same time. |
