Interested in Denon AVR-989 - Blu-ray Forum

I'm looking for some customer reviews but so far I've only been able to find basic info. Anyone here own it or can give me their opinions? This will be my first receiver. I'll be getting some Boston speakers to finish my setup but that's later down the line. Thanks for any help!

Your right.
Ive been looking high and dry for hands on review of this reciever.No luck.
But i can add this.I had a Denon 787 before i purchased my Yamaha and i loved the sound it produced.

I love Denon Receivers.I'll tell you , in my Opinion if you grab this reciever you can't go wrong.The specs hold up with the best.
I don't know what Boston speakers are going to sound like with this Denon but i don't think you'll be disappointed.

I was useing Paradigm Speakers.There's a little part of me that wishes i didn't sell my Denon and kept it in another room.

I hope this helps you a little bit and iam sorry agian for not coming up with some consumer reviews for you

If I'm not mistaken, the 989 is virtually identical to the 2809CI.

I purchased the Denon AVR-2809CI on Saturday to replace that POS they call a Onkyo TX-SR806. It's wonderful, it sound so much better for some reason. I didn't think the sound would be that much of a difference but there is. Picture quality is just passed through (can't upscale digital signals, only analog) which kinda sucks but since I don't need upscaling for HD content, I'm fine with that.
