Default What are you a sucker for ......

I am a sucker for :

Shark Movies & Disaster Movies

I tend to like them all and appreciate them for what they are.

What kinds of movies is everyone else a sucker for? Is there a certain genre that despite how great the movie actually is you tend to enjoy. A certain actor who you tend to always enjoy their movies ....

etc...

I'm a sucker for cornrows and manicured toes,
fendi capri pants and parasucos

oh wait, that ain't me, that's Nelly!

Shark movies are tops, boobs are a close second.
Bruce Campbell flicks, no matter how low budget or stupid.

I wish there was a simple way for me to search for shark movies, but alas, they do not have their own genre on this site

All the sci-fi. ALL OF IT.

Blockbusters--this includes all the superhero stuff, things like Transformers, the major disaster and action films, etc. I also used to gravitate towards movies with really impressive action setpieces and such, but I'm not sure if that's all that important anymore.

Bond...James Bond.

Females who can kick serious butt. Heroines or villainesses.

Asian cinema of all kinds. Maybe not every little thing, but definitely the best and most popular films.

Thrillers. Especially those where characters are stuck in some tense situation or something.

Weird and batsh*t crazy movies.

Movies with gore so extreme it's hard to take seriously, and are often comedies.

Beautiful documentaries about nature and space.

The three that immediately spring to mind:

- Hammer. Especially anything with fog covered cemeteries and castles.

- 80s slashers.

- Weird European horror / exploitation. Stuff like Jess Franco and Jean Rollin.

Coming of age type movies are #1 for me.

Foreign movies, 80s horror and any Stephen King~ especially the tv/miniseries rounds it out.

Post-apocalyptic themes without cheese (The Road, Neon City)
Non-SOV slasher films. The bigger the budget the better
Haunted house/supernatural
Horror movies set on islands
Anything having to do with tsunamis/flooded cities/eco-disaster
Movies set in the distant future.

Movies with Big Band or Classical source music.
Movies set in non-populated areas like the wilderness and a desert

Movies such as Airplane, The Naked Gun trilogy, or Loaded Weapon 1 with clever meta jokes and a ton of sight gags. These are tough to watch with women though as they seem to constantly complain how dumb and unfunny they are.

well i've had to rein it in big time lately but......

ZOMBIE movies. love zombie films but there has been so many stinkers that i had to stop blind buying them. been super picky on blu-ray.

JAPANESE GIANT MONSTER FILMS. Godzilla and company are must haves though i've been a little lax on upgrading to blu.

RAY HARRYHAUSEN great stuff, huge fan nuff said.

OLD SCHOOL KUNG FU have tons of them on DVD but very few on blu. while something like Bruce's Fingers would be fun to have on blu i can't justify the cost for what i know is a bad cheezy movie. wish more of the better Shaw Brother titles would get a US release as well as some of the better Golden Harvest films.
