I heard it uses the old Anchor Bay tranfers, but I am curious about the mono sound, whether it's the uncesored version of it.

Same here, so I’m really hoping it is the original audio. Should be, since the AB edition had the original mono track and the censored 5.1.

I can now (unfortunately) confirm that the english mono track included is the dubbed one. Does anyone know how it came to be in the first place?

Damn, that sucks. What about the transfer? Same as the old Anchor Bay blu-ray?

It kind of sucks, but I'm over it now. It's only a couple of lines after all. I'll get an edition with the original audio sooner or later anyway.

As for the picture, I'm not confident enough to confirm which transfer it is. It was kind of soft with fairly warm colors. My friend has the Arrow edition if a comparison is greatly needed.

The colours on the AB edition are warmer than the Arrow, and there seems to be more fine detail in the US edition, but am unsure as to it being naturally so. A huge difference is in the aspect ratios, where the AB is 1.85:1, and the Arrow seems vertically stretched to get rid of the top/bottom letterboxing and presents it in 1.78:1.

However, the Arrow does come with the uncensored audio.

Thank you for the info, that's what I've gathered from my research too. Not willing to pay Arrow OOP prices though. The auctions always start out fine, and then flip out. I would get the recent US BD, but I don't have a region free player. Maybe the time has come...

My Arrow copy is still in its' shrink-wrapping, along with my edition of Dawn. All this from back when Arrow used to give out both a review disc and the finished product.

An Anchor Bay featurette said that Salah Hassanein was heavily concerned over how much swearing there was. Presumably a version with less of it was created to keep him happy.

I currently have the fairly old region friendly US Anchor Bay blu-ray and when I revisit the film, I always choose the original mono over the surround options because of that.

Region friendly? Which edition is that? Or is it OOP too?

Glad I bought the Arrow Blu-ray at a reasonable price a few years ago.
This film could do with a serious overhaul though.

I ordered this few days ago. I think this is just as good as the previous movies. Can't wait to watch this in HD.
