Then put your remote out the way or have the PS3 set to start folding after 30minutes of inactivity at least that way your cat is helping cure cancer.

who leaves their sixaxis laying around for their cat to sit on anyway? and, yes, this is almost as bad as someone saying that their PS3 fan is loud... have you ever tried the 360+HDDVD addon combo? that's like having a turbine on the whole time... talk about ghetto rig.

Problem solved.

Walk to my PS3 and turn it off? Are you kidding me? lol

I don't have any problems with my PS3 turning on. The PS button is the only thing that turns my mine on. The only problem I have is when I'm watching movies and I bump into the analog sticks and fast foward my movie. But I've overcome that little problem by just putting it somewhere better. Simple solutions people.

Umm, no. Not sixaxis. We're talking about the remote for the PS3, and I leave it where I leave my other remotes, in a basket between my couches. I didn't think about the power switch in the back though. And what is this folding. I know it has something to do with charity, but it does something when you leave it on?

It sure would be nice if:

1. The remote wasn't so darned touchy.
2. The PS3 would just turn off with the push of one button, and not a cycle through menus!
I agree. The remote should have a power button like the console.

Perhaps you have a defective remote? Mine certainly does not have any of the problems that you mention.

I cant believe you change inputs on your tv to cut it off instead of walking over and hitting the power button.

This complaint is trivial.

Also, if you hold down the ps button for a few seconds then hit enter twice itd cut off. All of this could be done without getting up or changing tv inputs.

Other people must have defective remotes too, then, because they've stated that all they need to do is push a button on the BR remote, and the PS3 turns on.

Once again, we're talking about the optional remote -- not the sixaxis controllers, which are another problem causing FF and Rew when you bump them during a movie.

I paid extra money to get the remote because I was tired of bumping my sixaxis controllers when moving through menus. Now I've got the on/off issue I wrote this thread about.

Baccus, I have had the optional PS3 remote since December and have had no problems with it. The only time I ever even use the sixaxis controller is as part of the firmware download process. Again, possibly you have a defective remote?

I don't really see how throwing your remote against something hard enough to press the buttons down is a fault of the remote design.
