Default Anyone know a 1080p24 movie and a non-1080p24 movie?

Preferably from my collection? I'd like to experiment with the 1080p24 settings between my PS3 and my Hitachi, so I'd like to have one movie with and one without this feature. I hope I have one of each in my collection. Thanks!

Galapagos and Timerblake are both 1080i, not sure of the frame rate on these or the Shakira concert. All the others would be 1080P/24.

Oh, so are all blus 1080p24? I thought some didn't have the 24fps feature. And does 1080p or i make a difference? My Hitachi is 1080i, but it has a movie mode which accepts a 24fps film. Right now I have the 1080p24 output on the PS3 in Automatic and the tv's movie mode set to ON. I wanted to set the PS3 from auto to ON itself and fool around.

What he meant was that there are not many, if any blu's, that are not encoded at 24fps. Meanwhile there are not any dvd's that are encoded at 24fps, that I know of.

Oh, I see. What I'm trying to do is figure out if the movie is playing at 24fps. With the PS3 set to auto, it will try to detect if the tv can accept 24fps, but the tv set to ON also looks for a 24fps signal. Since both devices are looking for each other, I wonder if one is sending and the other receiving...? Maybe I'll just set the PS3 to ON, see if anything changes. I wish info buttons on tv's were more informative with these things!

if your tv is 60hz only, it wont make any difference anyways. the 24hz signal must be converted to 60hz before it can be displayed, whether that is done by the ps3 or tv is really the only thing those setting matter for. personally, i set the ps3 to output at 1080/24 and let my tv display it at 60hz however it needs to. this works best for me.

if your tv can't accept 1080/24, then you will have to turn the ps3 setting to either auto, or off.

My tv has a movie mode for movies displayed in 24fps. I think it's a 3:2 pull down, but I don't know what that means. Sounds like the tv is doing some sort of conversion.

Yes, the television would be doing the conversion in that case, or you could have the playstation do the conversion by having it output at 60fps. I don't know which one does this better.

Most concerts are recorded on video and presented on BD at 1080i/60.

That's cool. Maybe I'll just leave the PS3 in auto and let them figure it out
