Just got into Steelbook collecting, and I loved the Eccelson/Tennant seasons so I picked up the first three sets from Amazon UK. Managed to get it in before the date change, and now they're shipping 1 & 2 out for no extra charge. Going to try and grab Tennant's US specials set from eBay.

This was my first time buying from a different Amazon site, and I noticed the price went down about 17% from basket to checkout. Is that the norm? Pretty nifty if it is.

In the US we aren't charged VAT, so that dropped off of the final total for you.

They take out VAT (Value Added Tax) for overseas customers

Aw man, I just took a look at the new art. I wish they would have replaced the mean-face angel instead of the face-covered one. Wasn't a huge fan of what they did with the Angels in the later seasons. Just a nit-pick compared to the 'wrong Master' deal, so still excited to finally own this.

Actually I noticed mine was despatched on Thursday and not this morning - so I'm holding out hope it'll be here tomorrow!

Also, yeah I live in a region where there's a Bank Holiday on Monday. Pro: an extra day off work. Con: an extra day to wait for this if it doesn't arrive tomorrow.

Can someone please tell me if this is region free from amazon.co.uk? I'm in the US and already have region free steelbook sets for series 1 and 2 ,but I can't find 3 anywhere in the US. Helppp I simply must have this!

I'm 99.9% certain these discs are identical to the ones available already, which are region free. Unfortunately, I can't confirm until tomorrow, but I would be very surprised if they pressed new discs with a region lock on them.

My Steelbook arrived as I was walking out the door and got so I did a very quick open and got a quick glimpse and they looked like the same disks as before. I never tested the disks before to see if they are region free but if the old pressings were then these most likely are.

Will have a proper look tonight but its BBC as well so like you I doubt they will be new disks since they are still to redo the David Tennant Specials and they were 1080i@60 and never got redone and given the 50i treatment like planet earth did.

Edit. I looked at your pictures and if you see the copyright date 2013 so these will be the exact same disks as the previous release.

They ARE the exact same discs. Production numbers are the same on both the front and back of the actual disc. Previous UK = New UK = Previous Australian - they're ALL the same discs.

I'm in the US and got the dispatch email on May 3rd. The estimated delivery date is May 17th-18th.

Update: so I've actually checked on the amazon UK site and it is listed as region B. However, if the consensus here is that the steelbook series 3 is in fact region free then I'm going to get it!

I have S1-2 and S9-10 SBs (unopened), all of which stated Region B online when I ordered them. The packaging doesn't say anything about region and I have yet to see someone confirm playing them on a Region A player. I'm skeptical for now that they are region free so if someone can confirm they played them on a region A locked player, that would be very much appreciated.
