Very true mate, schedulers are too lazy these days and always seem to take the easy option. Many of these films haven't been on for years, so don't really know why they couldn't come up with a season of films similar to what we used to get.

Some classics here, but there's some that I admit to not having seen. I've never heard of Dr. Giggles - sounds interesting for sure.

00:25 The Raven (1935)

22 February
23:00 Bride Of Frankenstein (1935)

Me too Tob. I no longer subscribe to their movie channels, but if they brought a channel dedicated to old horror films, I'd re-subscribe again for sure.

I think that's the problem mate, Sky don't normally listen. I do remember e-mailing them many years ago asking why they don't show any Hammer or Amicus films, and their answer was that they didn't have the rights to them. That to me is nonsense, seeing as there aren't any other channels showing them anyway, I can't see it being difficult or expensive to get hold of the rights.

Still, at least they e-mailed a reply to me. Coming from Sky, that's an achievement in itself.

Good on you for getting in touch with them and finding out at least you tried.

Thanks mate, I felt there was no harm in asking. They replied fairly quickly too as I recall, so fair play to them for that at least, even if it wasn't the answer I was hoping for.

These days it's a little more difficult to get in touch with them. Nowadays I only subscribe to the sports package, but when I decided to get rid of the movie subscription, I had to ring them as this couldn't be done through their website. It seems you can upgrade your package online but not cancel it. So after hanging around on the phone for ages pressing various numbers from their multiple choice menus, I finally got through to a human being and sorted it out.

Some people ring to cancel and end up getting offered all kinds of deals. So I heard anyway.

That's quite correct mate, same thing happened with me. I'd been subscribing to the movies ever since I had Sky back in the mid-1990's and not once did they offer me a discount. However when I rang them to cancel it, they offered the movies for half price if I signed up for another 12 months. I said thanks but no thanks. Loyalty counts for nothing I'm afraid, but I guess many companies are like that.

It was a space adventure Tob. The costumes were cool and represented various birds. It was a American/Japanese co-production if I remember correctly.

I remember Battle of the Planets (aka Science Ninja Team Gatchaman). It was first syndicated in the U.S. back in the late 1970s after the success of 1977 Star Wars.

Good voice work including Casey Kasem and Alan Oppenheimer.

It was very unusual for that time. Great though.
