Default New Home Theater Speaker Setup Questions

I am getting a new house in a few weeks that has a third floor media room. It's pre-wired for a 5.1 setup. The room is about 16 X 12. There are two ceiling spots in the front, two in the back. Should I buy the same speakers for all four? What are some recommended speakers for this kind of setup? Should I get directional 2-way or 3-way speakers? For a room this size, does anyone have a recommendation on receivers? I already have the TV and Blu-Ray player. I just need the right speaker/receiver combination for my room.

I don't mean to sound like I am not answering your questions. But I strongly recommend coming up with a budget and then go out and start listening to some speaker systems.

In general, I like B&W and Klipsch. I also recommend checking out what Sunfire has to offer. They just came out with a new speaker system that is pretty sweat. This is just one opinion. Now get out there and start listening.

I appreciate the response, but I'm really looking for TYPE, not brand. I mean, I guess I want brand recommendations too, but I want the right TYPE for the area I have. Is directional important? Should all 4 in the ceiling be the same TYPE of speakers, or should the front ones be one TYPE?

I will check out your brand recommendations, thanks. Money's not an object, but I wouldn't blow thousands on fancy speakers that are more than the room is capable of appreciating.

I'm going to go an assume that the screen is going to be on the 16ft wall. So with that I would look into maybe some floor standers but if space or wife factor is a problem then some good bookshelfs would be good as well. If your using it more for home theater I'd suggest listening to some bipolar speakers. They give a greater soundstage then your usual directional speaker and for surrounds they allow a little bit more play for location/placement. Note that not everyone likes the sound of bipolars.
