Default no, at least not right now

A virus has to be specific for an OS. So a virus has to be specifically designed for the PS3. Because of that i think its pretty safe to surf the web for now since most of the malware out there are for Windows or Macs.

Eventually of course some defective human being will create a virus for the PS3, and that, will hurt you

Unless of course you are running some virus prone version of Linux on your PS3.

But if you're running Linux then you probably know what you're doing and aren't reading this thread. Heck you might be creating the virus itself!

YES. Exploits for the PS3 are possible. As a Software Engineer I can tell you that ANYTHING running firmware can be exploited. It's just a matter of time and energy (who wants to do it). PS3's and BD's have a Java Virtual Machine for code exection. It's just a matter of a clever code designer gaining knowledge of the PS3 internals and inserting a few code snippets. Will anybody do it is another question.
