My copy arrived today from Amazon. Glad I got it before the price shot up $10. Sounding pretty fine so far. Track navigation on the BluRay disc from the screen is compact to the point that individual movements of symphonies are not listed, but you can easily navigate with the skip button and booklet in hand. I guess BluRay audio discs are limited to a single static screen?

I agree. I would rather have extra space given to the 3 DVDs of Mozart Symphonies DG has issued. The Karl Richter Bach cantata series has been issued as JUST 2 BluRay audio discs in a package, and I think there’s an alternate version of the ‘63 Karajan Beethoven cycle that’s just the BluRay. At least they are no longer using that stupid hybrid packaging in a taller box resembling standard BluRay video packaging.

The set has reappeared on Amazon UK after only having been on the German site for the past couple of weeks. No reply as of yet to e-mail sent to DG about what's going on with availability.
Interestingly, although the Blu-ray.com link is still working and one can still link from their Wish List to that page, the ASIN (B07C5K7RBN) isn't searchable any more. Last edited by Paul.R.S; 11-06-2018 at 06:55 PM. |

Send me the cds, lol. Please don't give bad ideas to those who release these items. As soon as "cd" is junked, "dvd" AND "Blu-ray" and "4K," etc. will disappear and we will no longer own anything. Streaming is NOT the way. Sorry.

And this retired classical music radio DJ suggests you purchase a complete set of the Beethoven 9 symphonies. Plenty of superb performances are available in many price ranges for sets recorded since the beginning of the stereo era in the late 1950s. I recommend a budget Sony set conducted by the great American whose centennial we are currently celebrating, Leonard Bernstein. ![]() Can't go wrong with Lenny & Ludwig!! |

I’ll have to see how this takes before ordering more classical though. It’d help if I had my main set-up, set-up, lol. I got an email that it should’ve been here today. Hopefully it’s in tomorrow. Thank you for the recommendation! 😊 |

The best thing about classical music is that it's dirt cheap in the big boxes. You can get the Living Stereo box for about a buck a disc and have a great starter kit with a wide swath of core repertoire in great performances and first class sound. I would recommend that if you are interested in diving deeper.
