It was good to see them get a win and the last laugh on Gavin, but I still don't get how PP makes any money besides the coin. They don't sell ads, harvest user data, etc based on previous episodes. Do they charge developers to put there content on? Because that's the only thing I can think of.

Seemed to be headed that way. It would suck for them to have to start over once again, given where they were when season 5 ended.

They really ought to let us buy the last two seasons on Blu-ray

Wish he could do Beavis & Butt-Head again after this. When it came back, it was better than it had ever been before. Maybe on YouTube TV if Viacom lets him. It makes no sense to put it on MTV, considering what has become of it now.

Well it sucks more that not enough people bought the Blu-rays to merit a Season 5 Blu-ray release.

A bit underwhelmed by the series finale.

[Show spoiler]Would have loved to simply see them be successful... I hate when great shows spend an entire series building to something only to have the series finale render it all completely moot

I was so disappointed that it was such a brief run. It was so anti-climactic as there was so much ground that they could have covered, and it seemed like the series hadn't skipped a beat since it went off the air nearly 15 years prior (at the time), though it does seem to have played it a lot "safer" compared to many of the more controversial episodes from over the years.

On the plus side, we got a Blu-ray release out of it, but considering that all HD footage is 16:9 by default (there are no 4:3 flags for HD material, so the vertical black bars are part of the image itself), I wish that they had sourced HD (or at least widescreen) footage for the TV commentary and music video segments.

I didn't mind the fact that the show proper was in 4:3 (4:3 framing is sadly underappreciated these days), but the commentary segments should have been presented in 16:9.

I would kill for a proper complete series set (ideally rescanned from the original elements, warts and all), but that will probably never happen as Mike Judge seems ashamed of much of the show's run, similarly to how Matt Groening is ashamed of the 1987-1989 Tracey Ullman shorts of The Simpsons.

I don't understand why they don't rerelease the many, many VHS releases from over the years (many of which were exclusive to Australia), or compile them into a single boxset, if nothing else.

Wasn't a bad series finale but nothing terribly memorable over any other episode of the show either.

Finally got around to the finale. It was... ok. Could have been worse, could have been much, much better. I figured for awhile now that they would have to fail in the end. The whole "build a new internet" thing got too ambitious to become reality.

Still, The finale created more questions than answers. Why is Laurie in prison? What crime crime Russ commit, and how/why was it never revealed? The Gavin change was strange... an (apparently gay) romance author? What happened to Richard's mini drive?

I thought the show would give some characters a deserved happy ending.
Instead, the only two characters who really came out ahead were the two biggest slackers/idiots - Jian Yang and Bighead. Richard ends up a Tethics professor... hah. Jared might be the most depressing. I suppose that is keeping in the show's humor, and rewarding failure with success, and vice versa. And good god... the writers and TJ Miller must HATE each other. They literally ended his character as ugly as South Park with Chef.

I do get the feeling the writers turned quite anti-technology as the show progressed. The show started very positive about how tech can save the world. In recent years it turned very anti-tech, culminating in the finale screed against the dangers of technology. Doesn't really jive with what I've seen.

I suppose the most underrated hero was John the server guy. He's the type of tech guy who keeps the IT world humming, even though nobody ever notices him.

This will probably never get a complete series release on Blu-ray..... I think I may just pick it up on crappy DVDs.

Yeah it's pretty unfortunate that I will probably be doing the same. I absolutely hate buying DVDs. Avoid it like the plague. I am so desperate that I thought about buying the bootleg Blu-rays on eBay.

Can't believe how on point this series still is today. Just rewatched it again a few weeks ago. Not pleased that the last two seasons are incomplete media-wise.

HBO: Get your act together. Release the Blu-rays!

This show is a must-watch for any Mike Judge fan.

Yes, the quality of the DVDs suck, but the writing (especially in the early seasons) and creative plot is unparalleled IMO.
