Default Is Smackdown Vs Raw 2009 worth buying ?

Is Smackdown Vs Raw 2009 worth buying ? I was thinking of buying this game. Is it better then 2008? What are the new features ? Which divas are in the game? Which wrestlers ? Great gfx improvement? Good storyline ?

I have been thinking the same thing. I liked the demo, because they seem to have gone back to a control scheme that is similar to the old N64 THQ games which I loved.

They also have downloadable wrestlers and updates for not a lot of money. So far, it seems like a good buy, but I have always hated the road to Wrestlemania Idea. I always liked the original Heavyweight, IC and Tag circuits that they used to have.

Anybody have this???

(btw....Dark Elf...LOVE your avatar!!!)

I'm gonna hold out for the Legends of Wrestlemania title coming soon. I'm not sure if Randy "OOOOOOOOOOOOH YEEEEAAAH!" Savage is gonna be in it though, seeing that vince hates him.

And give me a HELL YEAH! Stone Cold's in the Hall of Fame. Hopefully "The Champ" will never be inducted. I'd rather have Santino as a Hall of Famer.

Yeah I think all of them are in the game. GO UNDERTAKER!

Oh, and if I buy this, Beth Phoneix better be in this. She's a real woman's wrestler and not just another piece of eye candy.

Same with me... even if I'm getting a bit worried that it may not end up being what I thought/hoped it'd be.

Savage and Ultimate Warrior seem to be the two biggest names that are likely not going to be in the game, thanks to Vince.

I don't mean to de-rail this thread, but here's the cover for anyone interested...

Also, for anyone interested in the roster:

Confirmed:
-Hulk Hogan
-Andre the Giant
-Stone Cold Steve Austin
-The Rock
-Bobby Hennan (as a manager)
-Jimmy Hart (as a manager)

Certain, but not officially confirmed:
-Bret Hart
-The Undertaker
-Shawn Michaels
-Ric Flair

Rumored people who HAVEN'T been in previous Smackdown games:
-Yokozuna
-Earthquake
-Big Bossman
-Tito Santana
-Honky Tonk Man
-Ricky Steamboat
-King Kong Bundy

Legends from the previous Smackdown games(you can likely count on a lot of them being recycled for this game:

I bought this game a week ago and I have to say it is a HUGE improvement over 2008! 2008 was complete garbage IMO!

It is worth it. A big improvement over last year.

Also, I've read that it will work with the Legends game (ability to swap wrestlers/rings/arenas between games).

Same ol scenario... different year. only difference is, SVR 08 and 09 has the new buttons, whereas 07 and down had the original controls. Overall it's still worth playing if you like WWE, personally wrestling suck now. But It's always fun to choke slam someone from the top of the Hell in the cell cage.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO YEA!!! CAN YA DIG IT?!

It's not "fake!" It's scripted!! Big big difference!!! The physicality and the toll that wrestling takes on these guy's bodies are certainly not fake. To call it fake is a huge disservice to what these guys go through.

Let's see you fall off a ladder and into a table (10-20 ft. drop) and have someone tell you that it wasn't real.

Craig probably used the same kinds of steroids as Hogan did. Does that count?

And yes, I think everyone over 10 years old knows that wrestling is scripted. Just like movies and TV shows.

i always found it complete rubbish even when i was 7 years old, but i watched because the ultimate warrior was badass...

WWF, or WWE or WWS or whatever is called doesn't hold a candle to mexican wrestling though.
