Default Blindspotting (2018, Daveed Diggs)

I've been seeing this trailer in front of a few things recently, and I'm super excited for it.

Waiting for CelluloidPal to complain about this one in 3...2...

In regards to the film though, this stuff tends to struggle to find a release in the UK, so I’m holding it off my radar currently, but the camerawork looks pretty neat.

Why would I complain about this one exactly?

If it's political, you've got to chime in your two cent about how much you won't like it.

If it is political, it doesn't mean I won't like it. I don't know how you came to that conclusion. I said I didn't like when a movie pushes politics first instead of entertaining.
I haven't even had the chance to watch the trailer to even form any kind of opinion yet.

I'm dying to see this and Sorry To Bother You, but the theaters here rarely play movies about black people. No Blindspotting, Sorry To Bother You, Traffik, Acrimony, etc. We did get Uncle Drew, but no thanks.

It's such a bummer, especially when the AMC here plays trailers for all these movies but then never gets them.

I'm curious about STBY but been hesitant to actually go but consider yourself lucky that you didn't get Acrimony or Traffik but I wouldn't be so quick to trask on Uncle Drew because that was a really fun flick.

Sorry To Bother You is one mind-f^ck of a movie, and totally worth seeing! I watch a lot of what most general movie-goers would probably consider "out of the ordinary", and at several points during the movie even I found myself staring at the screen, mouth agape. Armie Hammer is fantastic, and Lakeith Stanfield is really on a great tear of films, lately.

Of the two Oakland based movie's this summer, Blindpsotting is the one that affected me more. It has a couple of scenes that had legit tension that were earned based on the journey you are on with the two leads. It's one of my top 3 of the year

It's a very long story, but basically him and one of his mates started a fake race bating Twitter war last year which caused the closure of a major Broadway show and put 200 people out of work. He's a douche!

I knew about the whole Okieriete “Oak” Onaodowan/Mandy Patinkin controversy but I had no idea that Casal was one of the instigators. I guess the producers are ... blameless ?? (I don't think so). I've only read one of his tweets, which read like an observation regarding 'race' and seemed to defend Oak, but I guess the other tweets Casal went off the rails.

on a technical note, I thought the 5.1 sound mix was exemplary ~ and there's a reason:

Blindspotting Receives the Dolby Family Sound Fellowship

I really hope Lionsgate puts the Atmos mix on the bluray and/or the 4K UHD edition.

When I went to see Sorry to Bother You, and again at Equalizer II, every single preview they put in front of them were "black" movies - Blindspotting, The Hate U Give, BlackkKlansman, Creed 2, etc...

It's always good to see more representation in films, but it was almost offensive in its pandering, like black people only want to watch black films.

I'm not black and Blindspotting is my favorite movie of the year, I really liked Sorry To Bother You, and I'm super excited for The Hate U Give, BlackkKlansman, and Monsters and Men.

So, I guess their pandering worked for an audience they weren't aiming for?
