Default Kino Lorber Blu-ray Tough Guys

Surprised there’s no thread for this excellent movie. I just bought the Blu-ray and watched it tonight. Very nice transfer. This is one that was not released on DVD, it was released on VHS and Laserdisc.

I thoroughly enjoyed revisiting this relatively unknown 80’s movie. Two top actors showing how they have honed their craft over the years.

Light comedy with a little action, some nice 80’s club scenes with a showing by the RHCPs.

No extras other than a commentary by the director and some trailers of other movies starring Lancaster and Douglas. English subtitles are provided.

Definitely worth the money, this is one I’ll enjoy seeing over the years.

I have this disc too but haven't watched it yet.

I finally saw the movie for the first time a few years ago, on Showtime, after always wanting to see it as a kid.

It did not disappoint.

Yes, it's certainly a full-fledged 1980s experience - definitely a product of its time - but that's what makes it so much fun.

Really fun film. Burt and Kirk are absolute legends. The BD is one of the better-looking catalog releases in recent memory and I am so glad Kino upgraded this film from VHS.

Highly recommended for fans of Burt and Kirk (me!).
The video restoration is just fantastic (projected 120").
Sound awesome.
80's fashions, LOL.
Tip: Charles Durning says something like 'this is like Gunfight at the OK Corral!'. Burt and Kirk were in that movie

Just The Discs podcast (Brian) did an overview and recommendation on this one a couple years ago. Hadn’t heard of it before then, but he had a clip of a Kirk Douglas interview from the time. From that, it sounded like he and Burt Lancaster really had a lot of fun making it.

I have Gunfight at the OK Corral since 2014 and haven't watched it yet. I guess that's next.
Then Seven Days in May from WAC.
A trifecta of Lancaster/ Douglas.

So many discs so little time.
