GT5 to get astounding 10K cars, 340 to be on Blu-ray (FAKE) - Blu-ray Forum

SITE HAS POSTED THAT THE LIST WAS A FAKE.

According to this site, GT5 will be getting 10,000 cars

, most to be released at later dates. 340 of the 10K will be on the Blu-ray. Also, Polyphony has claimed that they can put any car into the game for a price.

I hope that report is not true. I mean, heck, Gran Turismo 4 has around 721 CARS or so......and that's all just on a DVD-9 disc .

I hope that rumor is wrong because 340 cars on one Blu-ray disc (while its predecessor had more than twice the number of vehicles using one DVD DL disc) IS JUST TOO DAMN FEW.

I hope those rumors are wrong....otherwise there'll be hell to pay with.

you have to count on the HD textures and all the tracks - everything in HD (including cars) which is why it is taking a lot more space.

dont worry, just downloade the rest from the net

10K Seemed ridiculous anyway. Of course any car can be made, but Polyphony said it took 180hours to model ONE car.

I read an article on GT5 in the August Car and Driver with the games creator and he said that to put 700 cars in the game would take an extra 5 YEARS! I'll take it the way it is and just download content as I go.

Because at what it stands, GT 4 has 721 cars and all of them fit on DVD-9 disc. To say that the PS3 version of Gran Turismo can only fit 340 vehicles (which is less than half) is BS and disgraceful.....even if HD textures are used.

I doubt even Polyphony are sure how many cars will be on the GT5 BD yet. Man-hours are the limiting factor to how many cars there will be, not storage. If GT3 had less cars than GT2 due to the extra time needed to create higher quality assets at the PS1 to PS2 generation jump, why would GT5 be any different? This time they're detailing car interiors as well as bumping up the exterior quality.
