Default Movie Food Recipe Thread

...ok, kinda weird question, but I wanted to survey what folks are making to get their snack on and their drink on when they're sitting down to a movie. I figured that since I have 10 tons of crap to do this week before I can even WATCH my copy of 300, I was gonna make an event of it and actually cook something before I sit down and annoy the neighbors when I crank that b*&^h up.....

get assorted cheap beers: p.b.r., bud light, maybe even a guiness if you are feeling like it. next get some twizzlers, m&ms, sour punch straws, and fun size twix & milky way. you then throw all of this into a large wash tub and just let the guys have at it.

if its irish movie night (the departed, boondock saints, etc) then i'll throw some corned beef into the crock pot.

- definitely w/ya on the PBR & Guiness. one thing that I tried that came off really well was a recipe to use up any leftover cheese - throw any leftover cheese in a food processor (I'm NOT talking about Kraft Singles, OK?) w/ a clove or two of garlic, and some white wine (maybe 1/2 a cup, depends on how much cheese ya got), add some black pepper and blend the hell out of it. Spread that stuff on some crusty bread slices and blast those suckers under the broiler 'till the cheese is browned. That S%@t ROCKS!

Do you have Once Upon A Time In Mexico? Robert Rodriguez includes a "10 Minute Cooking School" as one of the extras. He shows how to make one of the reoccurung dishes from the movie. If you like mexican, it's pretty killer...

when I make Popcorn (what is a movie without it) I like to add hot sauce (for example Tabasco) to the butter.

when there used to be a Kernels (a chain that sold different flavoured popcorn, popped in store) near where I worked some times I would buy a big bag of double caramel and a big bag of Jalapeno and mix them together to make caramalapeno

as for Natchos, they just are too messy for a movie (at least the way I make them)

Movie night is a friday night ritual in my home.....Beer of choice varies, but lately it's Heineken. I sometimes alternate between Becks, St. Pauli, and Grolsch.

Food?????? Depends.....some are pizza nights and we order out. I also grill on a very regular basis. The menu changes all the time. Sometimes is BBQ chicken/chops...or steaks. Ya never know!! It depends on what I'm in the mood for. When I grill, the movie starts the instant the meat comes off the fire.

In fact...I am starting the fire in 2 minutes. I plan to watch a movie tonight and I am grilling Rib-eye steak. Yummy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
