Favorite Resident Evil Game on PS1/PS2? - Blu-ray Forum

I just finished Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil Code: Veronica X on my PS3 60gb, both games were amazing! I'd say Res Evil 4 though was better. How about the other Resident Evil games, 1,2,Nemesis, Dead Aim, Outbreak 1, 2, any worth picking up? I'm buying 5 as soon as it comes out for sure. Capcom makes the longest, least repetitive best story games.

Are PS1 games playable on a PS3 60gb?

IMO the best RE is the second one. it comes with many extras.
you play with both leon and claire.
then you play with leon in claire story and with claire in leon story.
secret characters etc.

also liked nemesis

i've got to admit that ps1 games really rocked and still do!
man if you haven't played the first 3 RE please make yourself a favor.
its like playing final fantasy 12, liking it and never played 7 8 and 9!

I could never get into Resident Evil... All my friends liked them, but I didn't like the controls.

The Remake on the Gamecube is hard to beat.

The newer RE's (RE4/RE5) are great games...fantastic games actually. I just hope that Capcom makes some newer classic RE games, just like the older ones. The older controls (which just add to the fright) plus the awesome puzzles and story lines are a must!

My Order:

1) Remake of RE1 on GC
2) RE2 PS1
3) RE1 PS1
4) RE4 PS2
5) RE0 GC
6) RE3 PS1
7) CV PS2

They are all fantastic games IMO.

RE 2 and RE: Code Veronica are worth looking up. I have them both on Dreamcast, along with RE 3: Nemesis. For you, RE 2 is on PS1 and RE: Code Veronica was released on PS2. Both PS versions are fully playable on 60 GB PS3s.

However, you should realize that RE 4 plays and look very differently than any previous RE game. If you've never played an older RE game, and you jumped in on 4, you may not like the older ones.

Nothing worse than having two bullet left with 4 zombies approaching directly behind you. Now that I look back on it, I think the bad tank controls were directly responsible for part of the horror in the older RE games.

RE4 as the gamecube game is the best. The first one is second just because of how groundbreaking it was (remake/update for Gamecube is great too)

Dead Aim and outbreak 1 and 2 SUUUUUUUUUCKED in my opinion.

I liked 1-3 the best out of everything thus far.

If you liked Leon (from RE4) he's also in RE2.
And some of the characters from RE5 are in RE1...

So to get the whole story the OT are worth playing.

It's best played on the Wii actually. Has the extra stuff added to the PS2 version + the better graphics from the GC version + the improved aiming from motion controls

RE-1 was the best and the one that I still play from time to time. but RE-4 I think may be better I was surprised how fun it is just got it 2 weeks ago. hope RE-5 will be as good as RE-4 with better graphics. but the one I didnt like much was RE outbreak.

RE2 I thought I was in heaven it was the first "M" game I played. I actually played it on the N64. I suck at gaming and still do, but my next door neighbour is great at gaming, if I had rented it for another week he would have beaten it for sure.

Gamecube ver. has Progressive Scan.

In general: Res Evil 4 is an amazing and fun game, though it feels different fighting psychos instead of zombies.
