Seems like labels feel the need to pad out their special edition Blu-Ray releases with as many bullet points as possible. When an obscure film where most of the cast are unavailable or too expensive to interview now, it seems like some really reach in terms of getting almost anyone to be interviewed.
So, what's the worst supplemental material you've seen? Have any craft services or accounting department people been interviewed to give their recollections of the film's production? |

Not exactly what you are asking, but to me the worst bonus features on any discs was the BD Live stuff. It never seemed to work right, and slowed down the disc. Sometimes it would glitch and then I'd have a hard time getting out of it and on to the movie or other features. I ALWAYS skip past that om any disc that has it.

Deaf people watch movies too. Since they’re physically unable to hear “a door creaking,” or “gunfire in the distance,” they literally need those things spelled out for them in order to add context to the dialogue being spoken.

English descriptive audio is for the visually impaired so they can enjoy movies too. A narratar describes the scene inbetween dialogue. The most fun one is for Basic Instinct. And I’m glad Disney stopped listing Disc Art as a special feature. Although Sony is now winning with “Remixed in Dolby 5.1.” |

When dvd was still new they would list scene selections, animated menus and biographies as an extra, so... But back then nobody had internet so they could look it up for themselves.
Bad extras nowadays are those 5-minute EPK's and making of's or interviews with cast and crew that last 15-30 seconds. |

Descriptive Audio is also known as DVS, Descriptive Video Service.
Taken from the Media Access Group website... Founded in 1990, DVS® pioneered access to television for viewers who are blind or visually impaired. The service provides descriptive narration of key visual elements, which is then inserted within the natural pauses in dialogue to help low-vision viewers to better understand the story. Key visual elements are those which viewers with vision loss would ordinarily miss and include actions, costumes, gestures, facial expressions, scene changes, and onscreen text. Descriptions are accessed on TV programs via the Second Audio Program (SAP) option, which is standard on most contemporary TVs and VCRs. Description can be found on a variety of television programs including; The Simpsons on Fox, Frontline on PBS and CBS's CSI: Crime Scene Investigation as well as in movies, on DVD, in museums and other attractions and on the Web. Once your program has been described, we can help get the word out through our vast network of description fans—individuals and national and state organizations serving people who are blind or have low vision. |

For DVD it was since you went from VHS which was linear fast forward and rewind.
Although considering a lot of “budget” Blu-ray discs including Universal now just have pop up menus, Scene Selection would be a fantastic bonus feature. Not fun to just chapter skip like on Laserdisc. |

It's odd when you're on the main menu and you select "bonus features" and all that's there is one single solitary trailer. Why not just put "trailer" on the menu instead of "bonus/special features".
