Default optimal viewing height?

I am looking to get a tv stand...one that has a beam that you can attach your lcd to. I am pretty sure if I get it I will have to be looking up at it a little bit. What is the optimal viewing height for an lcd? I have a samsung ln46a550. thanks!

Uhm... eyes inline with the center of the display?
If you are sitting on the floor, the TV would probably be best on the floor too(eyes at ~2 feet height and center of display at ~2 feet height)

Sitting in a chair, adjust display height accordingly.

Now, of you can tilt the display down, having it higher would be fine - as long as you can view the display straight-on... or close to it.
