Default House on Haunted Hill (1999) (Collector's Edition)

https://www.shoutfactory.com/product...roduct_id=6860

Quote:
NEW TITLE ANNOUNCEMENT**

Get ready to spend the night in a mansion full of the macabre as the 1999 remake of HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL is (finally) coming to Blu-ray from us this Fall! Here are the early details we have at present time:

• This will be branded as a “Collector’s Edition” that will come with a slipcover (guaranteed for three months after its original release date). U.S. and Canada territories (Region A).

• Extras and specs are still in progress and will be announced later in September. What we can confirm today is that we will have a new high-definition transfer of the film and a new interview with Director William Malone. Extras from the previous DVD release will be ported over and more new interviews are underway.

• The newly-commissioned artwork pictured comes to us from Joel Robinson (Silent Night Deadly Night, The Serpent and the Rainbow, Ninja III, etc). This art will be front-facing and the reverse side of the wrap will the original theatrical poster design.

• National street date is planned for Oct 9th. However, if you pre-order now for early shipping directly from us @ https://www.shoutfactory.com/…/house...-collec… you will also receive an 18' x 24" rolled poster of the newly-commissioned art.

Was just thinking about this title the other day. Haters be damned, I always loved this flick. If SF can pimp it out with a lot of extras, I'll consider grabbing it and parting with my German copy.

It's a lots if fun, and better than original, despite what this or that ratings are saying.

You're definitely in the minority with that opinion.

Haven't seen it. I liked the original, though it's squarely in the silly William Castle camp. Those who saw the remake first tend to prefer it to the original. I haven't seen the remake, so I'm pretty interested.

Awesome! Definitely not as good as the original but it's still a fun little horror flick that I thought was effectively creepy. It goes a little off the rails in the third act but the first two are solid suspense. Great to see this finally come to Blu-ray after all this time.

I expect Malone's Feardotcom to be announced any day now as a follow up to this announcement.

Dumb (maybe) question. Do the posters have the "Collector's Edition" text at the top?

This is one poster I would love to have.

Ditto. I think I watched it 6 times theatrically (mostly to introduce it to friends) -- a record for me -- and I don't even know how many times on DVD.

During one of those theatrical screenings, an awesome, loud women in front of me shouted "Taye, you wanna get out the House on Haunted Hill, you better pray to Jesus!", which is still one of my all-time favorite moviegoing memories nearly twenty years later.

This one actually really scared me back then and it still does now. Very eerie scenes and a creepy atmosphere.

Love this flick. To me, it's quintessential 90's horror. I watch this one every Halloween season. Never got the German release, so I'm excited.

It has a great nostalgia for those who grew up in the 90s. HoHH is very representative of the horror genre at that time: R-rated, CGI heavy, but still fun. An American Werewolf in Paris is very similar in tone, but that's owned by Disney, I believe (has a nice region B release, though). Won't be seeing SF release AAWiP anytime soon, but glad to have Haunted Hill.

One of my favorite horror remakes since i saw it in one of Vegas's theaters as a teen! i'm gonna give away my old DVD to one of the libraries in my town or vegas to get this.

Hope there's a new 2K or 4K scan and extras abound to please fans of the remake.
