Important Notes: The Blu-Ray discs for MI-1,2,3 are the previously released discs from 2007 and 2009.

Re-Release Blu-Ray (2018 Release)

Hey all
Just wanted to check in to see if anyone has picked up the newly released Mission Impossible 4K discs yet? Unlike the U.S. set, they're all 2 disc but the cover states that all the extras have been carried over from the previous editions. There was talk the discs have been re-encoded to do just that, but wanted confirmation before I picked them. Thanks in advance if anyone can confirm.

Got MI:3 & MI:4 in the mail today. Not good news.

The back cover for MI:3 blu ray has these extras listed.


- Got the old disc with just the commentary. Why did they list the other extras then? Not good enough. Don't people check these things.

- MI:4 blu ray is the old disc as well.


These are the Rogue Nation extras listed. I doubt those extra 50 minutes are included either.

Can anybody confirm are the included blu-ray still using the old original MPEG-2 / Dolby Digital 5.1 on the first three movies rather than newer MPEG-4 AVC/ DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 encodes?

Yes, I have put them in the player and have checked them.

MI:3 Blu ray - Commentary, That's it. Nothing else.


MI:4 Blu ray -
Mission Accepted - Heating up in Dubai, Vancouver Fisticuffs

Impossible Missions - The Sandstorm, Props

Deleted Scenes - Alternate Opening, Confusion in van, Benji almost caught in the kremlin

I'm pissed. I really wanted those extras. Somebody stuffed up.

To own all the bonuses you need to have the double discs editions of III, Ghost Protocol & Rogue Nation.

That sucks...that happens to a lot of releases lately.

Virtually every Paramount release drops the extras on a separate disc, started with Transformers and now all the new ones.

Fox is testing the waters too, with DIE HARD only being the 4K disc (Steelbook still has the Blu Ray).

Really frustrated with this development...

US Versions here I come

Fox has already released a bunch of UHD-only versions of some discs. Logan, War For The Planet of the Apes etc... and it looks they're also going UHD-only for the Predator trilogy.

As far as catalog titles goes, in most cases I already own the BD so that's not really an issue. Importing is definitely the way to go if I'm going to fill the odd collection gap with a 4K release of something I never got around to buying on BD and the local release drops it though.

Has anyone seen the 'new' regular Blu-Ray releases? Does their back cover information still incorrectly list the special features (and I guess the Audio codec)?

I ended up just buying a copy of the 2 disc edition of the blu-ray for MI3 off ebay for $8 to get the extras disc. :P
