Default 46PZ80u or 50px80u

There's a chance I may be in the market for a new TV and I know I want plasma. I had a LG plasma and liked it but thought I would be better suited for an LCD and now I realize how much I miss my plasma.

I sit around 8ft from the TV and would love to have 50" but at 720p I figure I may not be at optimal distance. I know what the charts say, but I would like real world opinions and advice. It will be running a PS3, 360, Toshiba HD A3. I like the 46pz b/c of the resolution but If I could get by with 4" more and not notice much of a drop I would be excited.

I'm also looking at a Samsung a450 plasma...it's 50" and 720p also, any experience with it? How do the sammy's stack up against Panasonic?

Thanks

I thought this out when I bought mine but the extra contrast ratio and pc input were not enough of a must for me to justify the price increase. I did manage to get a deal for my 80u though (under 1200 shipped)
