Default A Beginners Modest Hockey Theme HT Basement

I have a few comments from posting a reply within the Home Theater Photos sticky, but it appears now to be buried under the many other replies. So, I thought I would like to hear any additional feedback from the many of you out there with what are truly impressive HT set-ups. Just an FYI... I just got "into HT" in the last 3 months (Oct 08'), but I believe it is a pretty good start for a new guy......

EDIT: It is now June, and I have since changed a lot since I first uploaded pics in January, so I thought it would be cool to give my Thread some new life and see if any of our older members might not mind a relook or our newer members might be inclined to provide their input or comments on my HT. Consider this a little "bump." Thanks in advance guys!!!

EDIT #2 Still June, but I have a new Pioneer SC-05 AVR and a SVS PC12-NSD sub being delivered to day, 6/18!! I will be adding additional pics and again update my gallery and give some more additional life to this thread hopefully. To be continued......

Looks good to me. Not the biggest hockey fan in the world, but I do like to go to the games when I am in a city that has a team. Good job.

It could use more Red Wings memorabilia, but other than that it's nice. You've got quite a collection going there. Some display cases for the jerseys and you'll be all set. Nicely done.

Nice job. Environment is part of the fun for your HT.

But like the other Detroit and Michigan members you need some Wings gear in there. Can't root for Forsberg at all. Too many bad years vs. the Avs in the late 90's!

At least it's not Claude Lemieux gear hanging up in his HT.

Great point. I can't believe he's playing again. I have the framed shot of him getting tore up by McCarty back in 97 hanging in the basement. Good times, good times.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Just a little background, but I always liked Forsberg, and he should have been in a Flyer uniform since he was drafted by them back in 92'. (Frickin "egg-for-a-head" Lindros and what has to be the worst trade in NHL history just ended up screwing me and the city for the next 10 years or so before it could get fixed....) I do need a few cases for the jerseys, but as soon as I get enough $ together, I'll more than likely upgrade the speakers and subwoofer. Darn HT stuff, I guess this will be a new hobby from this point on (my wife didn't hear that, did she?) As far as Forsberg, he is trying to begin skating again today in Sweden. If all is well, he says he will try to come back. However, he was quoted as saying if he still has any problems, this will be it, and he'll be done and retired......I'm crossing my fingers. One last thing, but damn, there sure seems to be a lot of Redwings fans here......have to give you props though, you swept us right out of the Cup finals in 97'.

1. But on that note...we could see a Lemieux/McCarty rematch in the conference finals this year. lol
2. OP, I'm also sorry about taking your thread off track. Couldn't help myself. Good luck with the wife. I know how difficult that can be sometimes

She is actually good with myself buying the HT stuff (hard to believe, but I actually bought almost all of this stuff before I even told her and she was never upset...???), but she does keep me "grounded" or I am sure I would be getting in some serious $ trouble for sure. Now, if only my kid(s) could get old enough to move out so I could have the entire basement.....then I could get serious with a projector and upgrade the audio.....unfortunately my wife is pregnant with our 2nd, so I'll have about 20 years to think up some good ideas before I will ever be able to do it......

A little bump to bring my HT Thread back to life for any additional feedback! Below was my initial post.

Consider this a little "bump." Thanks in advance guys!!!

I'm a big hockey fan and like what you did with the room. I myself am torn between a hockey theme basement and a movie theme basement. I've decided to trick out my garage as a hockey garage, and keep with the movie theme in the basement.

Even though the flyers aren't my team, I dig everything hockey. You've got some good treasures there in jerseys, way more than what I have.

I used to drool at the NHL catelog when they had the hockey themed bar pics of all the stuff you could get for a hockey themed bar area. I'm not there yet, but someday soon....

Good work,

oh and I'm rooting for the Pens on Friday only b/c I have a distaste for the wings
