Has anyone heard of movies being taken out of the iTunes store? I've had "Happy Death Day" in my 4K HDR wish list for a while, waiting for a price drop. I just checked my wish list tonight and noticed it was missing. I did a search in the iTunes Store and it's gone. Does anyone own the iTunes version and if so, are you able to watch it still? This is a pretty big disappointment...

It’s still available to buy in the UK store so could just be temporary. |

Does iTunes still pull the ability to purchase movies based on the movie's current premium channel distribution? I seem to remember a time where if a movie was currently playing on HBO (for example) then you couldn't purchase it because of some contract language the studios had with those channels?

I noticed that the Up Next feature of the TV app on the Apple TV does not recognize content that is no longer available in the iTunes store, for example, the older iTunes release of Django that I redeemed from an iTunes code, even though it is in my iTunes account and I can access this movie through the iTunes Movies app. Also the Search feature does not work for content no longer available in the iTunes store. So anything that you purchased that is no longer available in the iTunes store, you have to scroll through your iTunes library in the iTunes Movies or iTunes TV shows or the TV app on the Apple TV to access them. I think the Up Next of the TV app and Search feature should go according to what's in your iTunes account as well rather than what just exists in the iTunes store.

It also doesn’t put a watched marker on the episodes so you have to look at the what it shows in TV app then go into library to find the episode manually. |

silver linings playbook
so I just see this movie on sale for 4.99 on iTunes but I'm pretty sure that I own this movie in HD and of course I do. but the only way I can find this movie is through iTunes on my Mac sorting over all my iTunes movies and I can play it in HD with all the extra features. When I click on the "show in iTunes Store" it would just bring me to the iTunes main store page when I try to search for the movie in iTunes it tells me that I have to pay $4.99 for it. What kind of scam is this? digital double dip? be sure to make sure that you don't already purchased/own the movie before buying it (again) regardless of price. |
