What's Edward Furlong up to these days? He too busy or indifferent to do an interview?

I think this movie is unique, there's really nothing quite like it. I love it and the extras sound great. I'm in!

Shame they couldn't get Edward Furlough to do an interview but it's cool with the other people doing interviews and commentary.

sorry to be a hater, but this movie is awful and almost exemplifies every bad about 90s horror.

I remember really wanting to see it, but couldn't because I wasn't old enough. then basically kind of forgetting about. then catching it on tv about a ten years later. eesh.

I think a problem is that the 90s, they thought it was so easy to just make a character like freddy or jason or leatherface. so you got lots of movies that were obviously just cheap attempts at starting a franchise. but the franchise never happens because the first movies were all just so poorly made at worst and forgettable at best.

maybe it's not as bad as I remember. but there is a completely different set of nostalgia when watching an 80s horror movie that is self contained and not just looking at making sequels and a movie that banks too hard on a character that can represent the franchise.

Must've seen this seven or eight times in the theater as a 14 year old and thought it was awesome. I'm stunned this is actually getting the Blu-ray treatment.

Mine did as well. I was on the fence about this title, so it'll be fun to watch and see if my gut feeling served me well.

He irritates me in everything he does. I guess that's why he was perfect for terminator 2 since he was supposed to be an irritating kid. Sadly though he still was to me in the 2nd half of the movie when he was supposed to be maturing.

Dude, I'm not at liberty to discuss on this site the things I've been doing with T2 just for fun in my spare time, but toning down his "Bart Simpson-esque" qualities during the first half of the film is definitely one of them, lol.

Haven't seen him in much else, but I thought he was good (or at least, serviceable) in American History X.

Received mine yesterday, and viewed it last night. The film looks great, and the extras are awesome. A lot more stuff than I expected there to be. Unfortunately, it feels quite a bit dated. But this was expected. Movies dealing with a new technology often suffer this fate. But the power of the film is in its nostalgia factor, which is strong. If you saw this as a young teen, as I did when it first came to video, you were in for a special treat. CD Rom games, a kid talking to his computer, cutting edge grunge-style music, Edward Furlong at the peak of his popularity (who was the ultimate rebel kid at the time)--this stuff was unique at the time, and it gave the movie a visceral edge and a special appeal. People viewing it for the first time will probably find it difficult to see what was so cool about Brainscan in the 90s, but it's still there for those who experienced it when it was new.

Going to put a order in from SF, been waiting for this upgrade a long time now and I'll be happy when I can finally toss my DVD. Don't know if you've ever seen
[Show spoiler]the Cronenberg film 'eXistenZ' but, I always thought he ripped the ending from 'Brainscan.' eXistenZ' is just a better film though imo.
These 2 films also make a great triple feature w/SF's release of 'The Lawnmower Man.'

I'll agree that eXistenZ is the better film all around, and it also hasn't lost anything in technology, effects, or relevance. I'll give the credit for all that to Cronenberg, who's obviously a master at such things. I recently grabbed the 101 Film SE, which is very nice.

Why has this and Return of the Living Dead not gone down in price?

I'm betting once the release date hits, and they appear in other stores, the price will go down. That's when I jump and that's when I bite.

I'm glad to hear the film looks good! I can't wait to revisit and dive into those interviews. I know some people have issues with Furlong (acting wise, not simply his terrible personal life) but I always thought he would have a bigger career as an adult. I liked him in Pecker.

Side note: I also thought Nick Stahl (the John Connor replacement) was going to be huge. But, yeah, drugs man.
