Hi there, can anyone comment on the quality of this release? Is the picture quality comparable to Twilight Time's now OOP limited release? Thanks in advance!

I thought so (I've since sold the TT version so I don't have it handy). Bear in mind that the Japanese disc naturally lacks the TT commentary, isolated score, and trailer.

With the Fox buyout, I finally decided to pick this one up. Thanks to John Drake (in this thread and the French thread) for being able to provide some insight in regards to the quality of the transfer. Lots of reviews mentioned that an older scan was used on the Soul Media discs, so I'm glad to read that this one is at least comparable to the Twilight Time release.

So what is the best release of this film next to the Twilight Time, since it's fetching astronomical prices online and I'm finding a lot of conflicting information when I search the various editions.

Is the Japanese disc really 1080i? Is the Scandinavian release 25fps?
