I suppose if you're gonna remake it the Wiig and Nicholson are as good a choices as any in Hollywood. They should get Lars von Trier to direct. Thank god Lena Dunham is no longer involved.

This is from last month, but I haven't seen it anywhere else...
Well, while I find "The Kids Are All Right" to be brutally overrated, I do enjoy Cholodenko a hell of a lot more than the poster child for extreme liberal narcissism, so .

Jack Nicholson in what will likely be his last film role and his first in a decade, is more than "as good choices as any in Hollywood". Getting Nicholson to agree to this would be monumental.

God, I wish Nicholson would take the plunge. We need him on screen again.

There's only one other actor who would surprise me way more than Jack Nicholson for a Hollywood comeback.

[Show spoiler]Rick Moranis.

Apparently Bill Murray was the first choice before Nicholson but he misplaced the script or something... and:

****in bummer, man. Some good choices in that replacement list, but all the hype for this movie was how it was such a great role to entice Nicholson to come out of retirement. I would’ve endured Wiig for that.

Looks like Jack Nicholson doesn't care about acting anymore. Either that, or he is extremely picky.

Murray sounds perfect to me. I love Larry David but he can't really act (unless he's playing himself of course).

He's retired. Aside from a small part in How Do You Know for his friend James Brooks in 2010 he hasn't starred in a film since 2007's The Bucket List.

Not sure he’s ever had the chance, honestly. Pairing him and Wiig sounds pretty good to me.

Oddly enough, he replaced Murray last minute to bail Brooks out.
