United Kingdom The Official 4Digital Media Thread

Didn't know that the fab Iron Sky steelbook I own was released by 4Digital Media until this moment and now they're now getting these two..

Good news as another label is becoming an alternative to those TT releases for us region b collectors ..

Great Balls of Fire! (1989) - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Great-Balls...dp/B07GJ6H54R/

[Show spoiler]

Support Your Local Sheriff! (1969) - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Support-You...dp/B07GJJKT9N/

[Show spoiler]

Currently both are on DVD by MGM so I am not sure if this label has any deals with MGM.

P.S- I hope this is not one of those listing errors as I cant find any information on their web page but if this turns out to be DVD releases ,Mods please kill this page..

Great balls of Fire was a good watch when I saw it on video some 20+ years ago. Always like Dennis Quaid even though as the same time I don’t see him as that good an actor. Imo, because he’s obviously a very good actor.

Guess Innerspace as a kid means I’ll always like him.

Doubt I’d buy this until it’s a sale price of £5-£6, just because I’d probably only watch it again for nostalgia and maybe never again, unless it’s better then I recall. Memory gives it a made for tv feel and uneventful although the story should be more.

Haven't watched Great balls of Fire yet but I have one 90s best OST songs compilation album on CD by Polydor (1994 or 95) that has Dennis Quaid picture on the album front art and back cover says 'Picture of Dennis Quaid from Great balls of Fire' in tiny font.

Looking forward to the other one and hope 4Digital gets more releases.

The problem with Great Balls is that we'll never get a "real" Jerry Lee biopic till he dies - it would be too libellous while he can still sue. I mean....some of the things he's allegedly done would make some of the #MeToo stuff look like small potatoes.

Agree. The Twilight Time releases are years OOP and very expensive.

So does any one actually own Support Your Local Sheriff? How does it compare with the Twilight Time release? Does it have any extras?

I do not know whether it was you or not, but someone added this release's description HERE. Appears to be as barebones as it can get.

I have a copy but haven't watched it yet. Zero extras listed on the back so I assume it's a barebones job. Don't mind too much as it was a £6 blind-buy!

It wasn't me. I don't use DVDCompare

As Rapta said, there are no extras listed on the back. It would've been nice to have the commentary on there, but I tend not to listen to them, so I'm not too fussed. It wasn't that expensive so I don't expect a fully stacked release

Hopefully we'll get Support Your Local Gunfighter over here as the US got both.

Has anyone bought The Basketball Diaries yet? Slipcover looks nice in HMV, but any word on the transfer or booklet? Interesting to note this is a New Line film in the credits but licensed from MGM. How did MGM end up with the film and not Warner Bros?

F you look on IMDB, New Line only had US theatrical rights.
Elsewhere it’s a myriad of companies.
It does say MGM have video rights in 2003 so that probably explains why, then for UK licenced to 4Media.

I'm also interested in any reports on this release vs the previous 2010 version.
So far have only seen 1 user comment in the Amazon UK reviews saying there were no extras.

What's happen their edition of Madonna's Truth or Dare? It disappeared from Amazon a few weeks and hasn't resurfaced.
