The whole point is to "save the dinosaurs." In the end, isn't freeing them the best way to save them? Yeah, I mean, they're gonna eat some people and realize it was a HUGE mistake, but the initial goal was to save them from death, then they got captured, so they finally saved them again.

But in all seriousness, ladies and gents, JW3 BETTER SHOW THAT MOSASAURUS SCENE! Pardon my yelling, but come on. That shot was the best shot in the trailer and that's literally all that's in the movie. I hope it's not a "recap" of events. I want some giant Jaws-like chaos on that darn beach. I can dive into where the other dinos go another time. I'm all about that beach right now.

IMHO, no matter what you think of the movie, that opening scene was phenomenal. Might be the best scene of the whole movie. At least for me right now it currently is.

This and I thought it was pretty obvious. We're meant to sympathize with Maisie and understand her motivation even if we don't agree with her decision.

But also this. These JW movies are incredibly stupid and just an excuse to have fun watching dinosaurs do stuff. And the most important thing about Maisie's decision is that it means dinosaurs will be able to do much more stuff in the next one.

That seems to be more about an alternate opening scene as oppose to an extension of the beach scene at the end. It would be great if the beach scene gets revisited, though. I'll even accept showing news footage of "people on the scene with their cell phones" just so something is shown and not just explained.

I'm looking forward to watching this again on 4K. There are moments in this movie that work for me, but as a whole it just doesn't deliver as well as I was hoping. I can still enjoy it though. There is just something about these dinosaurs that keeps my attention even if the surrounding humans bore me.
