Default Supermassive Games (Until Dawn dev) goes multiplat with Dark Pictures Anthology.

https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2...ures-anthology

I really enjoyed my time with Until Dawn and am very much looking forward to this.

Quote:
Supermassive is going multiplatform with a new set of horror games collectively called the Dark Pictures Anthology.

The Until Dawn developer is working with publisher Bandai Namco to bring the horror titles to PC via Steam, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Quote:
Here's the official blurb, from Supermassive boss Pete Samuels:

Each game in the series will feature a brand new story, setting, and characters. The Anthology format gives us the opportunity to tap into a variety of horror sub-genres. We've identified 39 that we'd love to represent in the Anthology, but that would take some time!"
Quote:
The first game in the anthology is due out 2019 and titled Man of Medan, which stars a group of people who go diving for treasure and end up battling the horrors of the deep.

Decisions will determine who will and won't survive in these narrative journeys, Supermassive said.
Quote:
Here's Samuels again:

"The story of Man of Medan starts off on a dive boat in the South Pacific. With a rumoured WWII wreck to find, and plenty of on-deck partying to be had, our group of four young Americans and their skipper Fliss get ready for what should be the trip of a lifetime... but it doesn't go quite to plan. As the day unfolds, and a storm rolls in, they find themselves trapped on board a ghost ship. Subjected to unimaginable stress and terror, they must try to find a way to escape the ship and its sinister history."

mods change that title

Sony should have locked them in to make another PS4 game instead of VR stuff

What's incorrect about it? All but 1 of their games has released on a SONY system and only 2 were not exclusive and those were so long ago that them going mutiplat is noteworthy.

Look at that trailer again & imagine it’s a film.

Doesn’t remind you of a cheap horror teen movie?

Its not incorrect but rather unnecessarily wordy. An entire sentence isnt necessary and conciseness reads better.Something like "Dark Pictures Anthology (by Supermassive Games)" would have sufficed. JMO

Is this VR? nothing about the trailer or article states it's VR unless I missed something.

lol Yeah it's a thread, not a clickbait article.

I loved Until Dawn though, hopefully these are good.

A reply of “too wordy” would have sufficed.

I'm down for this/these after Until Dawn and the Inpatient. Loved those.

The title is fine I think.

I've been waiting for a new Supermassive game since Until Dawn, but they have all been 3D/PAD only. So finally and game I can play.
And it looks spooky.

According to ps access on you tube ,these games will be 4-5 hours long at most. At that length, they better not cost more than 29.99, or I will wait for a sale.

As an Until Dawn fan I'm very much looking forward to this.

I even liked Hidden Agenda, when the app worked...

I haven't played these games yet, if they're part of a horror series. The horror theme is interesting, but from the trailer, not scary IMO. If these are real time graphics though, they look impressive despite the slightly frozen face lip syncing. I'll have to check out Until Dawn one of these days.

I agree that a 5 hour game shouldn't be more than 29.99 in most cases. If it was open world and you could expand the play time with side quests, then that would be better.

Oh boy,I hope this isn't true. Theres a rumour going around that this will be 80gb storage space!! If true, that is insane for a game that's only supposedly 5 hours long. Until dawn was twice as long and only took around 50gb. And don't go telling me the couch co op,and online modes make it to be 80. I hope this isn't true. Still getting it,but it rubs me the wrong way if a 5 hour game is hogging up 80gb,while huge open world games like assassins creed odyssey base game take up less space and is endless. Not to mention rdr2 being 105 and massive.

Makes you truly wonder what could possibly take up so much storage for something so short. Read Dead Redemption 2 and a handful of others are probably the few you could justify at that space.

Yes they are more than justified, because they are long games. Remember, this is just a rumour for now, most likely because of steam saying its 80gb on pc,but that doesn't mean it will definitely be 80 on ps4.

Ok,I finally got the download going. I can confirm its 50.4 gb. Much better than the 80 gb rumour going around. Until dawn was around 50 gb as well, despite being longer. Im guessing this is because this has online co op,and offline co op,and the curators cut.
