Out of all these 4K John Carpenter titles Studio Canal is putting out, They Live is really the only one I like enough to consider upgrading.

A genuinely awesome romp with a solid performance from the late Roddy Piper.

I think SC have had to update some of the dreadful crap in their collection that passes for HD, they produced upscaled SD Blu-rays of EFNY and Da Fog and also for They Live, although the latter was pulled before it was released and was redone a few years later with a better (though still not great) transfer. They're having to redo this stuff, they're doing it in 4K so they figure "why not release a 4K disc as well?" while they're at it, and it helps that the Europeans are further ahead with localised UHD production than the 'Mericans, particularly in Germany where we've had stuff from Concorde, SC and Capelight on top of what all the majors are producing.
