Who do you think is the smartest character on TV?

2) Dr. House (House)
3) Sheldon Cooper (The Big Bang Theory)
4) Shawn Spencer (Psych)
5) Cal Lightman (Lie to Me)

I would go so far to say genius smart, but in his field as he (imho) as a character couldn't solve world hunger. I think that's the whole point of his character and why they wrote his character off, as it was for him to go out and explore new challenges/obsticles.
