![]() ![]() Removed my schpeel, it does look to still be a MOD release. For all of you Vudu/Digital fans, this is giving Instawatch that you can watch right now. Walmart Link Amazon has it for $19.99 and includes a digital copy of the soundtrack, versus Walmart's physical CD for $3 more. Last edited by Britnasty; 08-29-2018 at 10:46 PM. |

Is this sold in stores? If so I'd have to imagine it's pressed - even just 1 copy per Walmart would be 5 times the minimum number for pressing.
The logo stuff is useful but not definitive - plenty of small companies ignore that rule and use the logo on BD-R titles, and it stands to reason that the opposite happens as well (especially if the company normally uses BLU-RAY DISC, as they could forget to change the artwork style for their first pressed release). |

I've never seen DVD-Rs sold in brick-and-mortar large chain stores - it really doesn't make economic sense to. It is cheaper to press DVDs than burn them when you get into the 500 to 1000 copy range, and considering Walmart has 5000 stores in the US...
Maybe there was some weird case where the company didn't know better, but I can't think of any specific instances. I know Walmart has in the past had pressed versions of otherwise DVD-R-only movies (various Universal Vault releases are the ones I specifically remember). Nothing is definite obviously, but it would certainly make sense for this to be pressed if it is sold in-store at Walmart. If it's online-only, all bets are off of course. |

You wouldn’t be able to tell it’s a BD-R unless you flipped the disc over and saw the writable underside. Otherwise the A/V quality and menus, etc. would be no different than a pressed disc. The downside is they may not last as long as a pressed disc and may be more susceptible to scratching.

Says "No results found in your area." so I don't think it's sold in stores, otherwise the stores would show up as out of stock. I notice it doesn't even quality for 2 day shipping on wm.com, it says "arrives by Thursday, Sep 20." |

I believe this is an online-exclusive. I certainly couldn't find it in any stores near me, and the wording of some articles I read made it seem purposefully online-exclusive. This left me pretty doubtful but I bit the bullet and ordered a copy just in case and...
it's pressed! Both the Blu-ray and the CD are factory-pressed. I highly recommend this release, both because it's a fun movie and because good sales might lead this label to continue releasing pressed discs. |
