This movie is fantastic. It’s a heist type movie with Evan Peters (the Quicksilver dude) and is based on a true story. It has the real people interwoven into the movie. Between this and The Pirates of Somalia, Peters is shaping up to be a great actor.
Target has it this week for only $15, minus the 15% Cartwheel bringing it to only $12.75 (plus tax). Last edited by Dreamliner330; 08-30-2018 at 04:30 AM. |

[Show spoiler] involves some of my favorite moviemaking this year. I also love how [Show spoiler] .Of all the big Sundance movies this year, going by the narrative films, this one is probably my third or fourth favorite after "Blindspotting" and "Hereditary. The perfect male counterpart to "I, Tonya" in terms of the obsession we're overcome by to escape banality and achieve celebrity by any means necessary (and what happens when the worst people all but f * * k it up) and anchored by an excellent director and cast and the brilliant idea of melding actual interviews with the four young men intercut with recreated footage. |

Recently watched American Animals - solid & enjoyable heist film.
I thought it was clever to blend scenes with the real participants along with the "fictional" story; [Show spoiler] Hard to believe that these college students [Show spoiler] [Show spoiler] The film did have an amazing rock/pop soundtrack. My favorite song in the film was Ace Frehley's New York Groove (1978), which played when the two main characters went to NYC. This is definitely the best use of NYG I've seen in a film/TV show. Yes, I know this was a cover song, which was originally done by the group Hello in the mid-1970's. However, I find Frehley's version to be far superior & more iconic than the original. This film is bizarre in the sense that it is officially categorized as a documentary. I don't understand that since the vast majority of it is a regular motion picture using actors. Of course it has the real life people making brief appearances on the camera throughout the film.
This film does not appear under any of the actor's movie credits. it appears under "self" on IMDB. |
