I don't buy that he didn't shoot with 3D in mind. The first half looks like it would have had the strongest 3D of any previous Scott film. There was even a scene where a character was blowing smoke rings directly at the viewer!

While I won't dispute Scott, i remember hearing at the time that some of the cramped sets precluded 3D cameras so he agreed to a conversion. That would explain why so many shots appear designed for 3D. And that afterwards, it was the financially-strapped Fox that didn't want to add to the budget and nixed the conversion. Either way, it was a loss.

Agreed. It looks VERY MUCH like he shot with 3D in mind.

We have 4DX which is like the next gen DBOX. I saw Solo in 3D 4DX and it was awful because the seats would sometimes put you at an angle where it would ghost. I am sure 2D DBOX will be fun none the less

Only in the US I believe. All the advertising and plenty of the showings are 3D in the UK, certainly.

Its interesting that there are European 3D showings apparently...

I guess this article is inaccurate then?

Is Arnie in it? No? I'll pass for now and wait for the video. It could never live up to the original.

The trick with 4DX is you have sit towards the back rows for 3D.

I saw Batman v Superman in 4DX in the second row (it was the first movie I saw in that format and seats were pretty limited) and there was a lot of ghosting when the seats moved. Don't have it when I sit further back. And I like that, at least for now, 4DX is the only format which does all 3D showings when a title is available in 3D (won't matter for Predator though as the US DCP is 2D only, but it was nice to have for films like Tomb Raider, Rampage, Incredibles 2, and Mission Impossible Fallout where the IMAX release was 2D, and with Tomb Raider in particular 3D showings were very limited).

Yeah, it’s a bit crappy.

“3dor2d Facebook page asked if this is also the case world wide since the UK 🇬🇧 Trailer still mentions 3D. Sadly at this time of publication we haven’t received any confirmation

...other than all the trailers and posters! Lol

Not an interesting reboot for me.

If it gets a 3D bluray release, I'll bet I end up buying it though.

I'm not all that interested either but I'll probably see it anyway. Since I bought into that AMC A-list movie pass, I'm determined to see my 3 movies a week. It's tough, I've already seen a couple of movies twice.

3 movies a week would be a bit tough on me too. Reminds me of Brewsters Millions really

I loved Brewster's Millions. I especially loved the bit where Richard Pryor encouraged people to Vote for NONE OF THE ABOVE because both candidates were both corrupt scumbags (and he couldn't hold an office). I wish we could do that for real without having to write it in. But then, it would probably win more often than not these days and that would be amusing but also cause problems.

I completely forgot about cool runnings. I really need to get on top of some of those Disney exclusives soon.

I'll take most any old movie that's good, in 3D

Fingers crossed, but with kingsman 2 it was advertised even on the day of release and ended up no 3d, except in china,

Maybe its only the usa version has been affected by the recent scandal?

Guess we will see today
