Warner Bros The Fountain (2006)

I was wondering if anyone has ever been able to find The Fountain at a decent price. I never see it go on sale or be included on any sales on Amazon or anywhere else that I've noticed. Right now on Amazon it's at $23.99. I was hoping since this has been out a while I could atleast find it around $17.99 or so eventually. Anyone had any luck finding a good price on this movie? One of my favorites that I've wanted to upgrade from DVD but been waiting for a good price.

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum. This wasn't really a "Hot Deal" so I didn't think it belonged in there. Feel free to move this if needed.

Thanks in advance!

I think this is a terrible enough movie that you could find it at your local CD Exchange (are they still open), or Gamestop, they buy BD's I know. Removed idiotic question.

Thanks! Come on now... it's not that bad a movie. It just depends on taste. I know a bunch of people who love the movie. It's no 10,000 BC but what is.

I got mine from Amazon in their 3for2 offer here in the UK. I also think this is very good but seems to be one of those films that divide people, you either love it or hate it.

For info :

The Fountain (UK release) - Fox, BD50, DTSHD-MA
The Fountain (US release) - Warner, BD25, DD

Just thought I'd add that bit

You all have no idea how much I have been wanting to see The Fountain but all 3-4 times I have tried, I fall deeply asleep. And it's not a joke. I like Rachel Weisz and want to see it, but I have to find a day I have had enough sleep so I can actually see it.

most "thinking" films get lost on the masses.....its a sad fact...but, those who "get them" will enjoy them deeply.

I really love The Fountain but it's definately a love or hate type of movie. I think the soundtrack is excellent and Clint Mansell did an amazing job with the score. I've notice parts of the score used in trailers for other movies, can't remember which ones off the top of my head but I know I've heard it.

On a totaly unrelated note, I got GSP over Penn this saturday! I cant' stand Penn.

I remember watching it in theaters but I don't remember what the movie is about at all, hopefully I can find it at a cheap price as well and pick it up.

The time jumps kind of ruined it for me. He's alive in medieval times, then in modern times, and then he's meditating in outer space talking to a tree.

Other than that, I liked it. I thought it was a great love story.

Felt bad for him though, I don't think your wife wants you to break down and ruin your life after she's dead.

I picked mine up at a Suncoast used for $15. I really don't understand all the hate surrounding this movie either, although the thinking movie statement from a few posts up seemed fairly accurate. I really enjoyed the movie, and also have to agree GSP over Penn for sure.

Nice, Suncoast. I'll have to check there, $15 is a great price!

I remember when the movie came out there was alot of great discussion on it. If you google it you're sure to find many different interpretations. This movie to me had and still has great replay value. I always seemed to pick up on small details I missed each time I watch.

I paid full price on day one. I looked at it like this....I could wait 6 months and save $7.00. That was not enough to keep me away from this masterpiece. I saw it in theaters when it opened. My second viewing, months later on Blu, was much more powerfull. I caught some subtle messages that really brought it more tightly together. Dont waste your time trying to save the 3-4 dollars. This flick "says" something. How many movies can claim that today? Rewatch quality is 10+.

This movie was a trip until the third arc when Hugh Jackman becomes a tree hugging monk floating in outer space. I'm not joking.

Yes a sad fact indeed, exactly why the Matrix got misunderstood and it tried to bring in people with its action. The Fountain is a marvelous film that focuses on a universal spirituality, love, and and eternity. Its a very emotional and powerful film if someone is open minded enough.

A truly magnificent film that unfortunately goes over some people's heads. Aronofsky is quickly becoming one of the finest directors of his generation.
