The packaging is listing the 35th Anniversary edition disc extras

Video also is showing the 35th anniversary Blu-ray

Extras very unlikely would be on the UHD disc and is why the Blu-ray would be included for the extras
Perhaps they pressed the wrong disc? It wouldn't be the first time it's happened.

Stuff like this makes my brain hurt, from the comments:

Quote:
-Is this region A 4K disc or is it region free?
-Region coding doesn't exist on 4K Blu-rays, every single 4K Blu-ray release worldwide is instantly region free.
-Sometimes not all 4k movies are released region free..it all depends on the movie studios..
4 example here are region free 4k releases by movie studios..
Warner bros..
Universal pictures
Sony pictures..but it depends on a movie that might be region A only..
Paramount pictures
Disney..same as sony depends on a movie that might be region A only...
Fox studios..depends on a movie it may be region A only..
Lionsgate..region A only...

The most recent Friday the 13th set that's been released in the States will play on a U.K Blu Ray player, and it isn't expensive. I agree though; I don't see why we don't have our own releases over here

Yeah I want to get the complete Friday 13th set soon as it's region free.

I want the UK to get a complete Halloween set too as I want the H6 Producers Cut. It's unfortunately region locked in the US so I can't play it.

I'm still inclined to think that there's some sort of issue around the UK licenses for II and III. As we've said, if there weren't then surely someone would have snapped them up by now.
As Universal had released the US Blu-ray, perhaps they licensed their master but also had to get the UK rights for a release from High Fliers. I also agree there must be rights issues of some kind relating to II and III. It all seems a bit of a missed opportunity for the 40th anniversary and the release of the new film. We only have the cinema re-release and the Lionsgate 4K/BD release of the original. The only Halloween films available on Blu-ray in the UK are 1, 4 ,5 and 10 so a box set would have been a big seller. Even a boutique release of II or III or a box set with the 3 Miramax titles.

That is a very low price for a new release. I can only guess they want to shift as many copies of this as possible to cash in on the new film. Hopefully it's also a good transfer and upgrade on the previous discs.

I saw that earlier today. Annoyingly I ordered it in the 5 for £30 offer just yesterday, but I've emailed HMV to ask if I can cancel it and re-order it at the £4.99 price. I might wait for a review first to see if it's a different transfer to the 35th Anniversary disc (Anchor Bay), which I already have.

I hope you have more luck than I did. Still waiting for a response to a cancellation e-mail I sent them over 5 days ago. E-mailed them again yesterday about it, but no reply to that either, and now today, I received the shipping notification e-mail for the item. Awesome!

No. Me neither.
that's crazy if it's the older disc, as has newer disc art too
as mentioned earlier

no mention of Atmos now either
still mono track and 7.1 are both good anyway
wonder if UK and US releases will be the same ?

at least UHD getting Dolby Vision HDR upgrade
as don't think BD will be any different now either, and may even be older release no wonder its only £4.99

But according to the back cover in that video the mono is lossy on the 4K, on the Blu in the Halloween 15 disc box-set the mono is lossless

The 35th Anniversary extras are on the 4K UHD disc USA release

Usually that don't happen with UHD discs so that's a surprise

It don't bother me 2 much as I already have the 35th anniversay Blu-ray and I also already have the 2007 Blu-ray

If UK 4K release the same I don't mind as I'm getting that more for the packaging and artcards

When I eventually upgrade to 4K I will have Halloween in 4K to watch

If might though be annoying for those that don't have 4K set up and not previously purchased the 35th anniversay Blu-ray

yeh you're right, didn't notice that
oh well
I really like the English Dolby True HD 7.1 mix anyways

but I'm annoyed no Atmos, as was advertised at first to have Atmos upgrade too

already have both previous BD releases, the 35th and older release
and all the extras (I don't have US Box release with the lossless mono, as was region locked at the time)

so only reason for me to get this is for Dolby Vision/HDR on the UHD/4k
I've ordered the US 4k/BD but won't get till December as ordered with some late Nov titles,
though I'm not in a rush as not 4k yet anyway

Lionsgate usually include the extras on their 4K discs, this is no exception.

the video and review both seem to give the HDR a nice review so it must be a bit better then too,
which I suppose is something to look forward to
when I finally take the 4k plunge

so what happens if your TV is just HDR not Dolby Vision, video seemed to suggest HDR was better somehow than Dolby Vision ? is that normal ?

Wait until guys like Geoff D get their hands on it, mate. No disrespect to YouTubers but when they say things like "filmed on a 35mm print..." it's grain of salt time.

I think the Dolby Vision HDR difference could be down to a displays' capabilities and how they tone-map. But there's a HDR layer on each Dolby Vision title if you're not DV capable.

cheers yeh still bit of newbie with 4k

I was just wondering why the Dolby Vision wasn't as good as HDR
as it's supposed to be better like HDR10 ?
have other Dolby Vision Disc's not been better than HDR ? when compared with same equip etc ? as you said could be just this reviewers display
as on paper it should be better ?

It might just be down to personal preference (they may just prefer the look of one over the other or have different settings for HDR and Dolby Vision), but on paper Dolby Vision can yield better results.

The HDR layer on Dolby Vision discs is HDR10.
