Say Warner Archives started releasing their remaining 3D library in limited pressings. How much would you consider spending to add those rare items to your collections?

I accept a price of around $30 for 3D generally. I run up to $40 from time to time...but needs to be something I really want. Some I pick up just to support the format...but very price dependent.

The Mad Magician is selling upwards of $100...would like to have the movie but at that price...not even close to happening.

It all depends on the title. But I do hate paying over $20 for a single movie. I'm still kinda "sticker shocked" that I paid as much as I did for T23D from S.Korea.

Depends. The most I've spent on a retail Golden Age 3-D title was Inferno from Panamint, which cost me about $44 with shipping included. Even though the source material used for Inferno wasn't from the best elements and the film's original stereo soundtrack was a substandard mono mix, Inferno is a damn good film, so I justified paying that much for it.

Personally, I'd rather WB just put all of them in limited box set(s). Especially the westerns. It will help to maximize their profit while also giving the 3-D enthusiasts the films they want at reasonable prices. Their Golden Age 3-D library is large enough to pull it off. Indicator has been doing this in the UK and it seems to be working for them.

The most I think I paid for a rare 3D feature was $105.00 just to be able to own and enjoy "September Storm" in 3D.

Great question. Let's see...I paid three figures to fly from the East coast to LA to see Lumberjack Rabbit at the 3rd Expo in 2013 so to own a copy I would expect to pay whatever. (I've also bought every 3D release from TT at list price, the Panamint Inferno and contributed to Sept Storm). Maybe not if hundreds of films were produced but since it's less than 50..it's worth it

With Warner Classic Archives, which I believe are print on demand type DVDs or blu rays (see many of the unique Hanna Barbera Classics animated series as an example (DVD-R)), those are usually more expensive, so I would expect $27 to $30 to be fair. Above that and they'll restrict the amount of sales they get from 3D fans if they ever considered offering their 3D archive films, which would be cool.

Ideally though, I'd buy more if the price was less, so $19.99 or less would be perfect.

Well, I paid $60 to land a rare region A copy of Detective Dee and the Rise of the Sea Dragon I wanted so badly.

I doubt a limited release would go so high until sold out and goes on the secondary market. Only time would not go for $30 is if itsa real bummer only highlighted due to 3D

Anything over $50-60 is really pushing it. I've paid around that for a few import items that I really wanted.

History has proven that I will pay $35. My purchases would become extremely selective if they were all at that price. I'd venture to say my collection would be less than 10% of the size it is now, so it is really going to depend on the title.

I'd second the idea of a box set as well - let's face it, most folks would want to see and own them all.

That said, 35 for a full featured release would be the top.

Above is Warner Brothers store, though it's the fastest contact option I could find at the moment. Other Inquiries is an option from the menu, to send requests for their vintage 3D films to arrive on blu ray 3D hopefully. I requested to Warner Bros for an animated series to be released on DVD years ago, and about a year later, it finally happened after not having a full series release since it first aired on TV in the 80's.

It might be easier and cost less for WB to release them one by one on demand, compared to preparing all of them at once for blu ray 3D. This way they can also gauge the interest level of 3D fans.

If they did offer a vintage 3D box set, I wonder how many titles it would include. If 10+ 3D titles, I guess that would be in the $150 range possibly. Not sure.

Z..mind telling us which show? And of course if Warner does the work theatrical repertory releases are another source of profit as well as blu-ray and streaming. Being that Space Jam 2 is now happening and could possibly be in 3D Lumberjack Rabbit would be a great opener

They're finding in near impossible to sell their current Archive release 3D titles for more than $25 (MSRP 35) so it would have to be something special to get people to line up to pay more.

WAC pretty much has been bare bones releases though generally excellent transfers so I'm not sure why after all these years they'd totally change their style -- they're not even bothering to give them slipcovers.

TT has sold out most of their 3D releases.

Kino doesn't seem to be doing booming sales with their items
