Default TV App - Not showing any videos

My TV app was broken in TVOS 12. I show that I don't own any videos. I think it's happening to others as well. Does anyone have an update on this? I am not getting any responses from Apple about this and the beta 12.1 did not fix the issue. Logging in and out of ICloud and Itunes and also doing a hard reset and update of the software did not help. I tried that several times.

Same issue here. I have tried the same steps. Has anyone tried bringing the Apple TV to an Apple retail store?

I’ve had the same issue aswell and don’t have a fix for it. It’s happened twice now and then just fixes itself! Sorry I haven’t got a solution.

This problem is still not resolved so I just called Apple and they want me to bring it in to an Apple store. Have you tried this? Have you had any luck? Plan to bring mine in next weekend.

This happened to me a while back. The problem is I have 2 apple TVs and they both show 0 movies owned in the TV app which makes me think it's a problem on Apple's end, and not our hardware. If my history with apple customer service is any indication they will deny it's their problem and eventually end up fixing it without admitting there ever was anything wrong.

All my iTunes movie purchases show up in the TV app's library section.

Did you have the problem and fixed it or was this never a problem for you? From what I understand it is not affecting everyone

I don't know if it ever was a problem on my Apple TV 4k as I don't use the TV app and I only checked yesterday too see if I had the problem.

I'm experiencing the same issue with my Apple TV 4K. I can get it fixed if I log out then log back in. But the problem returns when I power off the unit. This is clearly an issue on Apple's side.

The only thing you really need the TV app for is to see how many 4K movies you have in the 4K and HDR section on the Library page of the TV app. If they moved that screen to the Movies app, you don't even need the TV app.

I’d disagree you don’t need to TV app as is does come in quite handy.
Take Thunderbirds(original tv series) for example, iTunes order completely out of running order but via the TV app they playback in correct running order.
Granted if it’s only being used to see what 4K content you have then yes I’d agree they could quite easily put that under the purchased section.

Have you tried signing out of iTunes completely, perform a restart then signing back in again?

Yes, this doesn't fix it.

Same here - nothing fixes this. Apple is trying to convince me it's a hardware issue. Yet this is the only problem my Apple TV is having.

Another TV OS 12.1 beta update that fails to fix the problem was just released. Why can't Apple fix this? I tried logging onto my account with a different Apple TV and had the same issue. So definitely a software issue.

If it’s happening on a different AppleTV could it be possible it could be an account issue rather than software.
It could also be a Beta issue with your account.
I don’t use Beta and don’t have this issue, personally I’d suggest not using beta software.
When I switch between accounts it shows no videos but does show them within a minute or so, sometimes if I go to the Movies app then purchased then back to TV app it speeds it up a bit.

It very well could be an account issue and I told them that. They claim they checked it and my account is fine. I keep trying the beta software to see if they fixed the issue or not. What is interesting is that the other Apple TV i tried it on showed videos in the TV app until I logged in with my account. Now that one doesn't show videos anymore even after signing back on with the original account. This problem is very screwed up.

Has this been fixed for anyone? I'm still experiencing it on the latest beta.

It has not been fixed but I discovered it is definitely related to my account. If I log in using a different Apple ID, it works fine. I think the issue is related to TV shows. I just discovered that the TV shows app does not fully load for me. There is one random category that will show 0 titles and just spins when you select it. The category that will not display varies each time I restart the Apple TV. I sent Apple an email this morning with this latest info. I am guessing this issue on the TV app and the one on the TV Shows app is related.
