Default Jurassic Park/World figures, vehicles and playsets

This line is fast becoming my son's 2nd favorite collection in our home (next to Star Wars).

While I'll certainly post more about these amazing toys in the future, I just wanted to alert anyone who may be into them that it seems Target, in-store, is blowing them out. I picked up the Deep Dive Submarine and the Gyrosphere Blast Vehicle for $15 a piece. The standard Indoraptor was also there for $13.

Seems a little surprising to "clearance" a toy line that is so popular just before the holiday season. I wonder if it means there is a new series on the way...

The Jurassic Outpost site has a piece up on some of what is coming in early 2019. I'm dying to see an actual image of the Colossal Brachiosaurus.

I've bought just about every main action figure in the line so far. Just picked up Zia and Mercenary w/ Ankylosaurus today. Jurassic toys were my favorite as a child and is the only full-range toyline I collect as a adult.

Where'd you get Zia and the Mercenary...? (please say online) They're nowhere to be found where I am in actual stores. Just ordered Zia off flippin' ebay for double store price, for my boy for Christmas.

So "Santa" has so far nabbed a Zia, Ian Malcolm and the Destruct-a-saurs helicopter/figure/dino pack. But what I seriously need for my boy is that damnable Spinosaurus from the Jurassic Legacy Target-Exclusive line.

I'm just NOT paying $80 on ebay for something that should be in stores currently. A short packed figure is one thing...but with the popularity of this line, how in the world can you try and explain the validity of paying triple for something that was just released?

Has anyone seem them in their local stores? I've literally gotten a notice they're "in stock" on the website 4 times this week and each time I go to the link it is SOLD OUT. oy.

The Legacy Spinosaurus was supposed to be a Target exclusive in the US, but Target ended up refusing to shelve it in stores. They sold a few online back in September (sold out within minutes) and this week they have begun selling a small number every morning. Unfortunately, scalpers have created bots to automatically order these in multiples the moment any come up in stock, making it almost impossible for other people to order one. Ebay is currently flooded with them now, but good luck finding anyone selling one for under $50.

As of now, Target has no plans to stock these in stores, and Mattel considers the item's USA release cancelled. The only hope is that Mattel will try to re-issue the figure at another store in the 2019 Dino Rivals line. The ones appearing on Target.com this week were likely from a small stock Target received before deciding not to carry the product.

They are being sold in other countries, most commonly Smyths in the UK, but getting one shipped to the US will still bring the total around $60.

I'm confident Mattel will find a way to sell the Spinosaurus in the US, even if it ends up being as a repaint next year.

What am I missing here though? These toys are mega-popular...why in the world would they NOT want to make money by putting a hot exclusive toy on their shelves in masses?

There is something really dumb happening with the loss of TRU; NO ONE is stepping up to sell more toys. Boggles the mind.

I gave in today. lol Found one on ebay with free shipping so $52 is what I paid for a $24 (plus tax) Jurassic Park Legacy Spinosaurus. The little dude will be ecstatic on Christmas.

My local Target literally had about 9 skids of unopened cases of toys down one of their larger isles...NO JP Legacy cases at all.

In contrast, my local Walmart only had two action figures in total left from the line...It was amazing that EVERYTHING was gone with exception of all the empty metal hangars.

I was lucky and managed to order a Spino from Target last week. They're still popping up every now and then but still sell out quickly.

I ended up ordering the Dino Rivals Bite n Fight T.rex from Entertainment Earth yesterday. It'll probably be the first Dino Rivals figure in my collection. Most of the ones that have been appearing in stores so far are just re-packaged figures.

Wow, I've not seen a single Dino Rivals toy yet...I know there was a decent amount of re-packs (that I'll be skipping), but there looked to be some cool pieces too. I can't wait to see an actual figure of the Plesiosaurus...looks like it may be the size of the Mosasaurus.

The Plesiosaurus will be part of the Battle Damage line, from what I can tell it will be basic sized (the $10 price point figures).

So today I hit Target (nothing to find there at all) and then headed over to Walmart and nabbed Battle Damage Albertosaurus and Styracosaurus. There were more of the new Battle Damage dinos as well as the straight Dino Rivals lines...lol just only had so many funds. But wow, some of these new dino figures look great. That Albertosaurus is fantastic. I like varying sizes too.

Looking forward to getting my boy many of these new ones...and playing a little with them too!

I just think it is odd to release them in January, instead of having them widely available for Christmas.

^It's been traditional to put out new product after the holidays. Mainly because the shelves get emptied at many stores so it allows more consistency when the new toys begin to show up. Plus the Dino Rival human and attack packs were sent out before the holidays.

First look at Mattel's Indominus Rex popped up last night. The Hasbro Indominus was one of the few redeeming figures of their line yet this still throws it in the trash. I can't wait to get my hands on it.

I hope I don't have to resort to ebay for it like I did with the Spinosaurus. Hopefully this will be a regular release and not a "Legacy" if that is still going.

Was just in Target a little while ago...boy the human figures are on the way OUT, it seems. lol Ellie, Ian...not only tons of them suddenly, but at $3.50 a piece. I really should have picked one of each up in case my boy wrecked his current ones...Hmmm. I think I may still do that.

I paid $25 for a Ellie last summer on Ebay, about two weeks before finding one in a store at normal pricing. So these swarms of Ellies at half price are essentially mocking me.

I heard Target has cancelled the US release of the Legacy Story Packs, though they were released in some other countries. I'm not feeling too confident about the Brachiosaurus. I think Target was the wrong choice for the Legacy line.

On the plus side, it appears Walmart will be releasing a battle damage version of the elusive Spinosaurus, and Mattel is releasing repaints of the two cancelled Legacy Dinos (JP3 Raptor and spitter Dilophosaurus).
