Default Michael Bay Blu's

Ok, so we have The Rock, Pearl Harbor, and Transformers. I've watched all 3 and the blu-ray's are among the best titles out there.

Regardless of your thoughts on Michael Bay as a director, or whether or not you like his movies, you have to admit they shine on blu. His style just begs to be seen in HD.

Anyone else anxiously awaiting Bad Boys 1 & 2, Armageddon, and The Island?

I just watched The Island HD DVD and it looks great! Hope to pick up Armageddon when it comes out, since my 2-disc Criterion set is non-anamorphic.

I have the Rock, Transformers and the Island on blu.

Armageddon would look and sound fantastic. It is the movie blu ray was made for.

He's a great director... I think he saturates colors a lot which isn't a bad thing. I like the colors to pop on my screen... Great action director! No hate from me!

The Rock was one of the first blu's I got and I wasn't overly impressed, the car chase scene was nice enough but a lot of the alcatraz stuff was very grainy, and the mix didn't sit well with me. I read it wasn't director's intent here but the transfer as it was shot with 35mm.

This was one of those movies, after getting my 46 sharp and ps3 where my wife looked at me and said "we paid this much for this?"

No, I think the last time I had seen it was on VHS probably. Not dissin' any Bay stuff though, love all of his movies, being new to Blu at the time, the Rock didn't have that "wow" factor for me

oh, well I would watch it all the time when it came on tv, and once I got the blu-ray I was shocked... maybe it's cause I'd watch it once/twice a mo.

I really like Transformers. It is one of my favorite Blu-ray disks. Also look forward to Transformers 2 and when it is released on Blu.

Hey Michael Bay....why the long face?

Just kidding. I adore the man's movies. As historically inaccurate as it might be I love Pearl Harbor. Just a great film maker.

I may be mistaken but I thought Bay stated that the original print for Armageddon got destroyed or seriously damaged. Can anyone back me up on that? I may have to search for that article.
